the things dad finds

Derrick took some trash to the dump the other day and came home with this tricycle. It is in great need of repair, but he thought it would make a great prop for a photo shoot. Hannah found it today and wanted to ride it. She enjoyed Derrick pushing her up the hill and running down with her. It is not a safe tricycle, which makes me very nervous. She was not scared at all.

planting flowers

Hannah had lots of fun helping Derrick plant flowers this afternoon. I think as much dirt was on her as she got in the pots. She is an outside child. Thank goodness for allergy medicine.

naming things

The other morning Hannah brought me these three little people. She told me it was Travis, Robin and baby Marla. Later that day she showed them to Derrick and told him the same thing. I think that her and MeMe had been playing with all her little people and gave them names. I am glad she likes pretend play.

fun in the sun

When I got home today Derrick and Hannah were in the yard playing. He had the camera and this is one of the pictures he took of her. She likes to have her picture made when it is her idea. This is her serious look. When he showed her the picture she said, "Hannah with glasses and pink flower." She is becoming a great talker.

fish

I had fish left from a science kit at school, well really Ruth had fish left. Susan and I did not do such a good job keeping our fish alive. We bought Hannah a fish tank and Derrick put the fish in it this morning. She was excited to show me the fish when I came home. She said they have a rainbow house. MeMe said she had been talking to the fish all day. When she was telling Papa about them she said,"fish taking a bath." I hope that we can keep them alive for her. We figured fish were a good first pet and they would not make her sneeze.

it's Ty

Hannah was very excited when I came home with Ty today. She had been home with MeMe all day playing. They get so excited to see each other. They were looking out the window for school buses. We were glad Ty could come play for a little while.

working in the yard

When Hannah and I got home today dad was cutting grass. Hannah got her new shovel from MeMe and started helping. She also helped pull some weeds and only one plant. She enjoyed being able to touch and smell the tulips. She has to tell you what color they are as she is smelling them. She loves to be outside.

bathtime gone bad

Tonight while Derrick was giving Hannah a bath they had a little problem. He was combing her hair and got the brush twisted in it. He called me and I tried to fix it. He tried the cut the brush out of her hair and then work it out. The whole time Hannah was saying, "Hair hurt, brush stuck." We finally resorted to cutting her hair. You can't tell where it was cut, thank goodness. Lesson learned: don't twist a brush in wet hair.

so glad to see dad

Hannah was so happy to see Derrick Saturday morning when she woke up. She had a good time playing with him all weekend. Monday when we got home she was showing him the pictures of Marla. She was glad to see Marla this weekend. She is getting very attached to her dad.

the puppy

We went to SC this weekend for Paul's funeral. The funeral was during nap time so we took Hannah to stay with Nana and Papa. Uncle Kyle was there when we got there and had Reilly with him. Hannah thought he was so funny. She was very happy when he licked the bottle she was trying to feed him. It was good to see everyone but we hated to have to come for a funeral.

much better and thanks

I think we are going to make it! I started feeling better on Wednesday and Hannah started wheezing. I had planned to go back to work on Thursday, but Hannah had to have treatments throughout the night. I stayed home Thursday just to watch her. MeMe came up on Wednesday night to stay with us and help me with Hannah. Hannah did good through the day Thursday and slept all night last night with no coughing. WHOO HOO!! She had a good day here with MeMe while I went back to work. She even pooped in the potty for MeMe. Maybe she is going to decided to potty train herself.

Thank you to everyone who has taken care of us this week. I am not very good at asking for help. I like to just do things myself. I am thankful that I work with such good people and have so many friends who care about us. Thanks for all of your help, love, and prayers.
