IKEA

We stopped in IKEA on our way home today to get a sink. While Derrick was looking at something Hannah decided to make a list of the things she needed to get while we were there.

a day visiting with Great-Grandparents

I took Hannah to see Great Papa, Grandma Edna, MeMa, and Papa Charlie this morning. She had fun playing at both houses. She is very shy around Great Papa, but warmed up a little more today. I tried to take a picture of her in the little rocking chair that Great Papa brought upstairs for her, but she would not cooperate. She loves to play with WeeOne, MeMa's dog, so she is a little less shy at her house. I am glad that she still have so many great-grandparents that we can visit with.

dinner and fun with the Hayes girls

We got to the Hayes' a few minutes before they did, so Dad got Hannah out of the car to ride the car. She loved it and looked really cute driving it! She was happy to see Mattison and Sophia. None of the girls wanted to eat, but they had a great time playing together. They played well together. It is fun to watch and listen to them. We got a picture of them eating and I think Donna got one of some of them playing. I will have to get her to email them to me. Thanks for having us over.

Thanksgivng at MeMe's

We went to MeMe's and Pop Pop's for Thanksgiving lunch today. Hannah was excited to see them, the cats and Marla. She had a good time playing. It was fun to watch her and Marla play. It was even pretty enough to be outside. Thanks for a good lunch MeMe.

Happy Thanksgiving

WOW!! it is hard to believe we are already celebrating Thanksgiving. This year has flown by. I was thinking of all that has changed this year and what we have to be thankful for. Here is the list I started, but it could go on forever:
  • good health
  • a new house
  • a new, healthy baby on the way
  • Uncle Kyle moving in with us (he is a big help)
  • good jobs for Derrick and I both
  • Hannah adjusting and loving her new school
  • a loving family
  • good friends
I hope that all of you who read our blog had a Happy Thanksgiving. I did not take any pictures of Hannah today, but she wore a cute little Thanksgiving dress I will have to get a picture of to post. We had a good day spending time with family and friends.

baby Myles

We were glad to meet baby Myles in person. We had seen pictures of him, but it was good to hold him and see him in person. He is very sweet and cute. Hannah wanted to hold him for a minute.

one for Hannah, one for baby brother

Nana and Papa keep a bank for Hannah at their house and when they fill it up, they bring it to her. There was another bank, blue, for Hannah's baby brother. She would put a lot of the change in her bank and then two or three coins in her brother's.

uh-oh!!!

Hannah must have needed more ketchup and thought she could do it herself. Papa, Dad and I were talking and the next thing we know Hannah has ketchup all over her shirt, the table, and a little in her plate. She looks like she is in trouble in the picture. We were all laughing too hard to fuss at her.

Hannah was so excited when we got to Mike and Nene's and she saw her big girl Ariel bed. She likes that you can see Ariel on both sides. She told me that she wanted to just take her bed back to her house. She slept great in the big girl Ariel bed! Thanks Mike and Nene.

what is on your belly?

Hannah was not sure about the ultrasound. She was very worried about the gel on my belly. She did like seeing her baby brothers feet on the "TV". She said, "His feet are stinky." She was good while we had the ultrasound but was not very impressed.

the results are...

Hannah will be getting a baby BROTHER!!!! She still says she is having a sister, so hopefully she was warm up to the idea of a brother. The ultrasound tech said he looked great. He was a little sleepy this morning, but the more she pushed on my belly the more active he became. He had his hands on his face and feet crossed just like Hannah did in her ultrasounds. We are a little shocked that we are having a boy, but very excited. Now just pray that he will stay in my belly until closer to his due date than Hannah did.

blessing

Hannah says the blessing for Derrick and I all the time, but not for grandparents or friends. I asked her if I could record her saying the blessing this morning. She said, "That will be fine." So for all of you who never get to hear her say the blessing when we eat with you, enjoy. I was glad to capture her sweet moment.

a short conversation with Hannah

Hannah was very worried about getting the angle on the tree from the minute we got the tree out. She was very happy when I pulled the angle out of the box. I love the way she says Joseph. She is really into Christmas this year. How exciting!!!

take my picture with...

Baby Jesus
the snowman
the boy and girl snowman
the train and snow on Santa
the bear that reads me a story

She wanted to have her picture made with everything we got out. The only things she did not ask to have her picture with is the puppy that sings Deck the Halls. I am sure she will ask soon.

it's almost Christmas

I know we have not even celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but since we are not here to enjoy our tree I like to put it up early. I have been trying to put it up since the first weekend in November. We spent the morning getting out Christmas decorations. When Dad brought the tree up and opened the box Hannah said, "It is Christmas!" She was so excited. The tree is not fully decorated, but all I could do with such good help. She was taking the ornaments off as fast as I could get them on, "to look at them."

Thanksgiving crafts

I love that she makes fun crafts at school. I have not thrown any of them away, yet. Derrick is going to take pictures of them so we can have pictures and not a million crafts. Of course I will have to keep anything with her hand prints or other sculptures she makes, but the rest we will pass on or, as bad as I hate to say it, throw them away. Theses were her three big Thanksgiving crafts she brought home.

letters

After reading Ty's blog I was curious to know what letters Hannah knew. Today she was really quiet and when I went to check on her she was playing with her letter blocks. I asked her to hand me the letters she knew. Here is what she knew:
A - Apple Annie
B - she does not say anything that starts with it
C - cat
D - Dad, dog
H - Hannah
K - Uncle Kyle (she does not say K, just Kyle's name)
M - Mom
N - Nana, Nene
O - she says that is a big O and makes her arms into an O shape
P - Papa (she does not say P, just Papa)
Q - she says a bird starts with Q
S - Sidney
T - Ty, Target
X - she does not say anything that starts with it.

Wow! I was impressed. I have some kindergartens who do not know this many letters. We will keep working with her, I would love for her to know all her letters and most of her sounds before starting kindergarten.

this is what I found

I stayed at work until about 5:45 today. When I got home Derrick and Kyle were in the basement. I asked where Hannah was and they said she was asleep. When I came upstairs she was sound asleep on the couch. Derrick had put her there in time out and she went to sleep. She slept until 7. We put her to bed a little after 9. I think the week caught up with her. We had something to do every night and she was never in bed before 8:30. She also told Derrick she did not take a nap at school.

the bird

We had a package from Grandpa Mike and Grandma Nene today. They sent Hannah a bird. She was so excited. She also liked the pictures and the light up ring. Thanks for getting the bird to send to her.

such a cute little indian

Hannah made this headband at school .She looked too cute in it not to take her picture.

another hair cut

We decided that Hannah needed another hair cut. We took her with us to get her hair cut the last time and she did okay. We decided to go back to Snip-it's, because they do such a good job and are very quick. She did a great job and looks super cute.

gymnastics update

I took Hannah to gymnastics after we left the dentist because Dad had to work late. I have not been with her in about two months. She is really fearless and does well. Miss Sara said that she was a little off tonight and that she does not behave that way with Dad. She did get hurt a little tonight. She was swinging on the rope and let go too close to the mat. She cried but did not say anything hurt. When she came out of the foam pit and we walked down to leave I noticed her eye was red and puffy. I asked her what happened and she said, "The sticks on the mat hurt my eye." She scraped it on the Velcro that is on the side of the mat with she landed too close. She seemed fine by the time we got home, but let me take a picture of it to put on the blog.

to the dentist with mom

I had to take Hannah to the dentist with me today. The last time I took her she was younger and much more calm and quiet. I will not take her with me again. I think it is good for her to see me get my teach cleaned but not worth the fit/drama we had to put up with.

good ears

Dad took Hannah to the doctor this morning to have her ears rechecked. They looked great!! Thank goodness, we will hope that is her only ear infection for the fall/winter.

Chloe and Cole

Today after school we went to see baby Cole. Hannah was more interested in Chloe and dumping out all of her toys. Baby Cole is so cute and cuddly. Chloe has grown and she was very nice to share her toys with Hannah. We will have to get them together more to play. I did not get a good picture of the girls because they were never both still for long. I did not take one picture of Cole. It was good to visit with Auburn, too.

starting to look like a room

The progress they made this weekend. They are not in order, but you can still see the work they did. When Hannah climbs a ladder she says, "I am climbing sunshine mountain." She is a mess. Thanks Papa, Dad and Uncle Kyle for your hard work this weekend.

What is your vote?

We go a week from Monday for my 20 week ultrasound. I can't wait! By this time with Hannah we already knew she was a girl and had already had 12 ultrasounds. I have had one ultrasound and heard the heartbeat twice. I can't wait to see the baby and find out what we are having. Hannah says she is having a sister who she will name Cinderella Ariel. Derrick thinks it we are having a boy because we already have all girl stuff. I do not really have a feeling. This pregnancy has been totally different, which would make me think we are having a boy, but everyone I talk to says their pregnancies were totally different and some of them have two girls or two boys. I will post next Monday for sure what we are having, as long as the baby cooperates during the ultrasound. Be sure to vote and leave a comment if you would like.

updates are coming

I do not seem to have enough hours in the day. I hope to update tomorrow. I have not been good at taking pictures lately but I do have some stories to tell about our wild, very busy girl.

Happy Birthday Cooper

We had fun a Cooper's birthday party tonight. Hannah was pretty good. She sat and watched Cooper and his mom and dad open his presents. She only had a melt down when she let go of her balloon and it we to the ceiling, which is very high. Another little girl gave Hannah her balloon. Hannah held on to it for dear life. Thanks for inviting us. We had a great time.

Happy Birthday Nana

Papa and Uncle Kyle got Nana a cake at the store for her birthday. She cooked us dinner and we had a nice meal all together, as Hannah says. We sang to her, but did not let her blow out candles. I hope you had a good birthday Nana, we are glad we got to spend it with you.

more helping pics

being a helper

Dad and Papa were working in the basement to frame in the bedroom/rec area and the bathroom. Hannah decided she wanted to be a helper, but she does not like the hammering. Papa is already teaching her how to measure. She looks like she is doing a good.

Kindermusik with Nana

Nana and Papa came to visit us this week and Nana got to go to Kindermusik with us. We were getting ready to go and Hannah said, "Nana aren't you going with us." Hannah was pretty good and did most of what Mrs. Amy said. I think Nana enjoyed watching her. Nana had her camera so here are some pictures from Kindermusik.

trip to KY

We got sad news Friday that Grandma Nene's dad passed away. Today we went to KY for the visitation. We decided that Hannah would probably do better at the visitation than then funeral. She did great on the ride there and back and was good at the visitation. She was sweet to Nene and gave her lots of hugs. She was very curious about why Mr. Jack was sleeping in the box. We tried to explain to her that he had gone to heaven to be with Jesus. She told me that Jesus was everywhere. She is too smart. She enjoyed looking at all of the pretty flowers and wanted the birds from one of the arrangements. We love you Nene and Lori and are praying for you during this sad time.

fun with the Hayes'

Matt, Donna, Mattison and Sophia came to visit this weekend. The girls had a great time and played well together. We only had a few melt downs. Matt and Derrick worked on putting plumbing in the basement. Friday, Donna kept the girls while I was at work. Saturday the guys finished up and we were all able to spend the day together. I can't believe that I did not take a picture all weekend. Sunday we they were getting ready to leave Mattison and Hannah plotted together and then came to us and asked if Hannah could just go home with them. They were too cute. Thanks for coming and visit and putting the plumbing in the basement.

reading

Hannah enjoyed taking every book out of the cabinet. She does actually take the time to "read" the books. There is also video of her reading. They are two short ones. Hopefully she will "read" to her new baby.
