my two fish

Hannah is funny about sharing her bathtub, until tonight. She has decided that it is okay for Hunter to be in the tub with her. I think she just likes getting to pour water on him and help bathe him. They were both concentrating on the toys they were holding when I took their picture. Hunter will not stay in his little tub so we tried this seat in the big tub. It floats so we are going to have to come up with a new way to bathe him.

love the hair

I think that Hunter has more hair than Hannah did at his age. We decided to fix it while he was in the bathtub tonight. He still loves taking a bath. He looks scared in the picture of him looking, but I think the flash just took him by surprise.

Hannah's pcitures from today

lazy morning

Hunter got up and went from his bed to Papa's bed. He fell back to sleep before he even had his first bottle. I was trying to get his picture with is face covered up, but he woke up before I could take the picture. He has just started holding his hands together. I think it is too cute. He has also started rubbing his eyes, but I have not been able to get a picture of it.

fun Friday night

This is how we spent our Friday night, having a picnic in the living room. Hannah ate dinner and watched a movie and Hunter went to sleep. I have to admit that I enjoy our Friday nights at home together.

Uncle Kyle is at our house?!?!?!?!

That is what Hannah said when I told her there was someone who wanted to see her when she got home from church. I meet her outside so I could talk to her before she saw Uncle Kyle. I had talked to her doctor earlier in the day to get some advice about telling her that Uncle Kyle only has one leg. She suggested that we draw a picture of someone with one leg and show it to her and just answer any questions she has. I had Derrick draw a picture and showed it to her before she came in the house. She seemed okay with the fact that he only has one leg. She was so excited that he was home and came running in to see him. She stopped in her tracks when she saw him. He told her that he was okay. She had to take a few minutes to check him out. We explained to her that he would get a pretend foot and leg. She said, "What will it be made of?" We told her it would be made of plastic. She then said, "You can't make a foot out of plastic." We told her that the doctors can make a new foot and leg for people who need one. She then asked what the toes would look like. We told her that there would not be toes on the foot. She said, "You can't have a foot without toes on it." I told her we would just have to wait and see when it was time for Uncle Kyle to get his new leg and foot. She said, "I will just go to the doctor with him and watch him make the new leg and foot." She gave him a good night hug before she went to bed. Thank you to everyone for the prayers. She handled the news well, much better than I had played it out in my head. Hunter was happy to see Uncle Kyle and gave him a HUGE smile when we came in the door.

Hannah is the best ...

big sister!!! I had fixed Hunter's cereal and was about to feed him. I usually ask her to go get him a bib. She asked tonight if she could feed him. I was feeling brave so I let her. She did a great job. He was wearing a little more cereal than normal, but not bad. She also wanted to feed him his bottle one day this week. He looks so big when she holds him now. I was in his room getting him ready for bed and Hannah and Derrick came in. We stood Hunter up by Hannah and he comes just a little above her hip. They are both growing way to fast!!! We are loving every minute we have with them even when Hannah is very trying. Mama says that is why they call them the trying threes.

poor buddy

My Hunter bug is not feeling great the last few days. He is still smiling and happy for the most part, but he has had some rough diapers. We had to take his car seat apart and wash it. I called the doctor Monday and the nurse called me back. She said that if he is leaving 2 oz at each feeding and is still having bad poopy diapers to bring him in tomorrow. He ate his cereal, but would not finish his bottle before bed. He is sleeping good and does not have a fever, but has not finished a bottle in about 5 days. He has taken 4 7oz bottles a day for at least a month and a half, so I am a little concerned. I called Nana to see if he had taken his whole bottle first things this morning. She said he left 2 oz. I called the doctor and got him an appointment at 11:30. Derrick thinks I am crazy for having him take Hunter to the doctor, but I need some peace of mind that he is okay. He weight 16 pounds, so he has not lost any wight and the doctor said he was a picture of health. I guess it could have just been a little bug, but I just want him eating again.

a good end to the weekend

It was really good to go to church this morning. I was a little emotional during the singing. I am amazed at how true the songs we sang today are. I think until God does something to get your attention or until you are going through a trail you do not realize how great, big, good and awesome God is. At least that is what I am finding true for me. I was glad that Chrissy was able to go to church with us. She came to stay with us this weekend. She was in a wedding on Saturday. I did not see her Friday night because I went to bed so early, Saturday I was able to eat lunch with her, Derrick and the kids, and then Sunday we spent the day together at church until she had to leave. I am so glad she got to come, but hate we did not get to spend more time together. Come again anytime Chrissy and hopefully we can spend more time together. I am so thankful for the friendship we started at college orientation.

Derrick and I were able to go to the hospital to visit with Kyle tonight while Mrs. Jenn came to sit with the kids. We had a good "talk" with Kyle. Derrick is pretty good at reading lips. I am so thankful that Kyle is awake and able to try and communicate with us. Praise the Lord for what He is doing for Kyle each day. Thanks Mrs. Jenn for sitting with the kids.

Kylie's 3rd Birthday Party

We all went to Kylie's for her birthday party this afternoon. Hannah loves going to Kylie's house. It was fun to watch all of the kids play. They just grow up too fast. They had fun playing in the pools, with the water dog, and in the red barn that was next door. We all enjoyed the yummy birthday cake. Happy Birthday Kylie!! Thanks for inviting us to your party.

sooooooo tired

I was supposed to go to the hospital to stay with Kyle tonight so Mama and Daddy could come home. I felt terrible when I got home from school, Hannah was complaining that her stomach hurt, and Hunter was a little fussy. I talked to Mama and told her I just did not think I could make it. Derrick was working so we all ate dinner and by 7:15 had on our PJ's and were laying down watching the Little Mermaid. As soon as Derrick got home I went to bed. I slept for 11 hours. I feel much better this morning. I think the week had caught up with me. Hannah and Hunter seem better this morning too. I am glad we all got some much needed rest, and hope that Mama and Daddy got a little rest. I am going to the hospital now so they can come home to shower and hopefully rest.

my frist day with kids

I know I usually do not blog about me, but a good friend told me that she reads my blog and still wonders how I am. I was glad to be back at work, with my WONDERFUL, INCREDIBLE, AWESOME, FANTASTIC, LOVING, CARING team. I could not make it without them. I was happy to meet my new students, but also a little sad to leave Hannah and Hunter. This is a picture of my class, all 22 of them. They were really good today. I hope it last, but it could just be that they were not sure about their first day of kindergarten.

preschool choir

Hannah get to go to preschool choir on Wednesday nights now. I am so excited. I loved choir when I was growing up. She said she had a good time and got to sing a new song. I can't wait to see her in her first performance at church, which will be in November. Thanks Mrs. Sharon for picking her up from school and taking her to church. She loves getting to ride in Ty's car.

back to the real world

I went back to work today. Hannah went back to her school and Hunter started at Nana's. He went a few days last week, but today was the day he had to start. It was hard to take them back. We had a great summer and were able to do lots of fun things and spend lots of time together. I am already looking forward to next summer. Hannah will only be in her class for one week and then she will move up to another class. I am sad she will not be with Kylie, but they still get to see each other first thing in the morning. Ty will move up with her. Hunter thinks it is great to watch all of the big kids play at Nana's. I am glad my kids like where they are during the day because it makes leaving them a little easier.

fun at the fair

Hannah and Derrick went to the Williamson County Fair with the Bussell's tonight. I talked to Derrick a couple of time and he said she was having a great time. I am glad she go to go. She loved all of the rides. Derrick said that one of the rides had a handle you could pull to make the ride go up high. As soon as the the ride would start she would pull it. I think she may love some amusement parks, when she is a little taller.

puppet show & lunch

We went to see Cinderella this morning. Hannah was excited that Dad was going too. I am glad he went because Hunter was sleepy and I had to take him out to get him to sleep. We had lots of friends come today, Ty, Todd, Kylie, Anna Claire, and Kate. I think Derrick was impressed with the puppet show. Hannah loved it because it was Cinderella. After the show we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch with everyone. They were all glad to eat together, play and then trade their toy in for ice cream. I did not get any pictures from the puppet show today.

a hot day at the zoo

Today we spent the morning at the zoo with Hannah, Cooper, Ty and Todd. We took Hunter to Nana's since it was so hot. The kids had the best time. When Hannah got in the car she said, "I just want to take a nap and put on dry clothes." I asked her if she had an accident and she said no I am just too sweaty. We got to see some new animals today that we have not seen all summer. We never make it through the bamboo trail, but today we started there. We went to Wendy's to eat lunch and all of the kids ate very well. I am a little sad that summer is coming to an end. I will post the pictures of the new animals when I get them off the camera.

thankful

I am so thankful for all of my friends. They have taken my kids, cooked food for my family, done laundry, washed dishes, stayed at my house all night. I am so thankful for each of you. I have had so many calls, emails, visits that I am afraid that I will forget to think someone. I hope to thank each of you individually but I thought I would thank everyone from here for now.

Hunter's first day at Nana's

Hunter seemed happy to meet his new friends at Nana's today. He was smiling and watching the big kids play when I left him. I only called once to check on him and Nana said he was sleeping. Jenn picked him up for me so I could stay at the hospital and let Mama and Daddy go to the house. She said he had a good day. I talked to Mama tonight while she was feeling him and she said he was happy. He is such a good baby. I just want to eat him up, I hope he will give Nana and Papa the same HUGE smile he gives me every morning. It will just melt your heart.

hard day

I stayed home form the hospital today to be with the kids while Derrik was at work. I think we were just all out of sorts. It was a rough day for us I. I seemed to have very little patients with Hannah, she was extra whinny and did not listen, Hunter would only sleep if I was holding him and Hannah would not take a nap. When Derrick got home we ate dinner and then I called Jenn to see if she would come sit with the kids. She gladly came and Derrick and I headed to the hospital. It was good to see Kyle. I learned today that it was no easier to wait at home than it is to wait at the hospital. I think it might be a little easier to wait at the hospital because you are there and do not have to wait on the call. I am taking Hannah to school and Hunter to Nana's tomorrow so I can spend the day at the hospital. I think that will be best for all of us.

Sunday School Class picnic

Our Sunday School class had a picnic tonight. The Glenn's came and got Hannah so she could go and play with all the kids. Jenn came and stayed with Hunter so Derrick and I could be a the hospital. We are surrounded around such awesome people. I am not very good at asking for help, but I have learned these past two days that people would not help if they did not want to. Hannah had a great time at the picnic and loved playing in the water.

update on Uncle Kyle

I want to keep a record of what is going on each day with Uncle Kyle. I thought about a blog, but one of my friend suggested doing Caring Bridge. I have started him a Caring Bridge page. I added him to the top of our blog under families to pray for. We covet your prayers for him. We can feel them and they are getting us though.
