before I forget

I really am going to update soon. We are always so busy.

Tonight I was getting Hannah ready for bed and she decided she need to count her hair bows. She not only counted to 29 with no help but did it touching the bow, which is great one-to-one correspondence for a three and a half year old. She has 38 bows, but needed a little help with 30, but then could count to 38. She said twenty-ten instead of thirty. Pretty good if I have to say so myself. I have some kids in my class who can't count that high, much less do one-to-one correspondence.

Derrick and Hannah decorated the Christmas tree tonight. She loves decorating. I am so excited that I have a little helper to decorate with now. I look forward to getting more of the house finished so we can really decorate and not just for Christmas. Hunter watched him and showed his approval by clapping his hands. He is so cute. I hope to catch him clapping on video soon. He is growing too fast!!

Right before we put Hannah to bed she said, "Can I please eat breakfast in the house in the morning?" Derrick asked her where else she would eat. She said, "In the car." I do not like her having to eat breakfast in the car anymore than she does, but we just have to leave too early. I would much rather her sleep a little later and eat in the car than get her up even earlier so she can eat in the house. Derrick told her that he could take her to school in the morning so she would be able to eat breakfast in the house.

his favorite thing

Hunter hates to wear socks. As soon as you get them on he pulls them off. I had just put them back on and he already had one off again. As you can tell him the picture, he is very proud of himself.

Thanksgiving at MeMe's

Hannah was so happy to go to MeMe's to check on all of the animals, especially Boots. Hannah was glad to have Cheree to play with. Cheree played her violin for us, and did really well. Hannah wanted to try so Dad helped her. Hunter thought the girls were having so much fun playing with the play-doh that he would check it out. Thanks MeMe for cooking us such a great Thanksgiving meal.

Thanksgiving at Great Papa's

I was very happy to see my Papa. He and Edna Ruth cooked a great meal for us. I wish that Hannah would take to him more. She did warm up to him a little, but still would not sit with him so I could get a good picture of them. She had fun playing with Uncle Kyle. Hunter went right to his Great Papa. Hunter had a good time and wore himself out.

who is the happiest

We are all so happy to see Uncle Kyle. Hannah has missed him living with us the most I think. Every night she prays that he will come back to live with us tomorrow. She also prays for Nana and Papa to come and live too. Hunter is just getting big enough to know Uncle Kyle. I am glad that Uncle Kyle is here for Hunter to get to know. I think Uncle Kyle was just was happy to see Hannah and Hunter as they were to see him.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope that everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I have many things to be thankful for this year. Two of which are pictured above. I am also thankful for all of my family. I am very thankful that I have God on my side because He has brought all of us through a lot this year. I am thankful to still have my brother with me and for his recovery so far. I am thankful that I have a great job and work with the most wonderful people. I am thankful for a GREAT church and church family. I could go on and on. I hope you take time today to list some of the things you are most thankful for.

we have stockings

I am so happy that we all have stockings and that they are hung. I finally bought Derrick and I stockings this year. I think they are really cute. Hannah told me when I bought them that mine had to hang by hers and Derrick's had to hang by Hunter's and that hers needed to be by Hunter's too. She knows what she wants. Thanks Dad for hanging them up for me today. I love decorating for Christmas and love that I have a mantel to hang the stocking on. All that is missing is a Nativity set to put on top of the mantel.

fun lunch

Lunch is never dull with two kids. Hannah tried eating with chopsticks for the first time. She said, "I think I will just use my fork." I am with her on that. I am not patient enough to eat with chopsticks. She then decided it would be best to eat with her fingers. She was holding a noodle in the air, playing, to get it in her mouth and dropped it on her face. She had first put in in the sweet and sour sauce.

Hunter just wanted to drink some water. Today is the first time he was able to get the water to come up the straw. He did not want to stop drinking once he figured out how it worked. I see a straw cup in his future.

Happy Birthday Cooper

We gave Cooper a card that sounded like a fire engine when you opened it. He loves firetrucks.
Hunter chilling before the party started. He looks so big, wish I would have pulled his pants legs down.
He thought David's dinner looked much better than his.

Sweet Cooper blowing out his candles. Happy Birthday Cooper! Thanks for inviting us to your party. We had a great time.

puppet show

This morning we went to see the puppet show downtown. I think they all enjoyed the show. It was really neat and very different than any other show I have seen there. I tired to get a good picture of the three of them, but could not get them all to look at one time. They love to act silly together.

fun Thanksgiving at school

This year Hannah got to make a Pilgrim and an Indian hat. I think she looks too cute in her little Pilgrim hat. Ty got to make the boy Pilgrim hat, as Hannah called it. She as excited about making a pinch pot. She told me that you have to pinch and pinch and pinch to make it. Then you get to paint it and add glitter. I asked her what we should do with it. She said, "You can put in on your desk and put monies or stuff in it." It is on mu desk with some stuff in it.

swimming

I hope he will like the pool this much this summer.

Kindergarten Feast

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. I enjoy teaching about the pilgrims and Indians and making vest and headbands for our feast. The kids love it. We have 8 kindergarten classes this year so our feast was rather large.

The Thank You Meal

Hannah has been going to choir on Wednesday nights since August. She loves it. We have practiced the songs in the car and she knew them well. She had not shown us any of the motions so it was fun to watch her do all the motions. She did not miss a beat. I was afraid that she would see all of the people and not sing at all, but she loved it. She was the first one to yell, "Hey Mom!" She is waving in the picture. We were glad to that Mrs. Julia and Mrs. Susan were able to come and watch Hannah. Thanks for coming.

Hunters dr. appointment

I took Hunter to the doctor this afternoon for his second seasonal flu shot and to get his ears rechecked. His right ear looked great but his left ear was still red with a little fluid. She decided to let him finish his medicine, which he will finish tomorrow, and feels like it will clear up on it own. I hope. He also got his first H1N1 shot. We were not going to give him one but since he had been sick twice since is six month check up she thought it would be a good idea. He did great with both shots. He just whimpered for a minute then was fine. He is such a GREAT baby.

decisions, decisions

Hannah has been learning about the letter B this week. Tonight I asked her what she was going to take for show and tell tomorrow. She said, "I might take a block or baby or ball. Maybe I will go to my room and think about it." I told her to let me know when she decided so I could put her name on it and put it with our things so we would not forget it in the morning. About 20 minutes later she came into the living room. She was smiling so big. I asked her if she had decided what to take for show and tell. She said, "Yes, I am going to take this princess. Her name is Belle and that starts with a B. Do you hear the b? (Then she made the B sound several times.) I am glad that she took her homework assignment so seriously. She is pretty good at make decisions on her own.

I love this sweet boy

Hunter was a trooper today. He was good all morning while we were out. I put him in the floor to play while I get everything out of the car and this is what I found when I came to check on him. Shopping made him tired. He enjoyed a little jump time, then took another nap. He is such a good boy.

Hannah's Christmas Tree

She said, "Take a picture of my BEAUTIFUL Christmas tree!!!"
She wanted to sleep in Christmas pj's to match her tree.

We bought Hannah a Christmas tree for her room this year. She has had a small one since her first Christmas, but I wanted her to have a tree that she could really decorate. She wanted a tree with colored lights. I took her Friday and we bought a few things for it, so it could be well decorated. I had to put the star on, she said she was just not tall enough to reach, tie the skirt and put the "shinny stars" around it to make it sparkle. She did the rest. I love that all of the ornaments are in one place. I think she is going to love decorating for Christmas as much as I do. I can't wait until we have the living room finished so we can really decorate.

Happy Birthday, Dad!!!

Happy 30th Birthday Dad!!! He decided to keep Hannah home from school today so they could spend the day together. He is not only the best husband ever, but the greatest Dad. Hannah loves to do anything with him. She was very sad that we did not have cake and balloons for him on his birthday. Sorry Dad, not enough hours in the day. Since he is getting ready to go out of town tomorrow we did not really do anything special. We did go to Bass Pro and Wal-Mart so he could get the rest of the things he needed to pack. Thanks Mrs. Julia for sitting with the kids while we went. Happy Birthday, we all love you the most!!!

I knew it would happen

Last night Hunter woke up at 2:30 am. He never wakes up in the middle of the night. He was wheezing so I gave him a treatment, which must have helped because he went back to sleep pretty quickly. He was still not himself when I was getting him ready for daycare. He did not have a fever so I took him on. I called the doctor and she said to bring him in. I was happy to hear that she did not hear any wheezing, just stuff in his upper airway from his cold. I was not so happy to hear that he has an ear infection. I knew it would come. He made it one month longer than Hannah did. She gave us some medicine to take for 10 days. Please pray that it helps. I hope this is not the beginning of a long winter ahead.

she is learning good things

On the way home from school I asked Hannah what she made at school (the picture above). She said, "We made a house out of logs like the Pilgrims. When they came here they did not have a place to live, so they had to comb down some trees and build a house. You see all these trees (the ones we were driving past) they were just like them. You can make a house out of trees."

She also told me that they came to here on a BIG ship. She added, it was called the Mayflower.

She is too smart and must be a good listener at school.

Hunter is 7 months old

Where has the time gone. I did not even take a picture of him today. He is still the best baby ever. He is so happy!!! He is sitting better, rolling all over the place, and starting to raise his hands up when he wants you to hold him. He eats three meals a day and still takes four bottles. He LOVES his sister. She can make him laugh so hard. He is the sunshine in my day, everyday.
