so honest

I made the dessert in the picture for Uncle Kyle. I told Hannah if she ate all of the dinner I put on her plate she could have some. She was eating good and with I told her to finish she came to me with her mouth closed and checks puffed out. I told her to spit it in the trash. She said, "Mama, that was throw up." Yep she made herself throw up because she did not want to eat the chicken and rice. Since she did not eat I told her no dessert. I had fixed some for Uncle Kyle, Papa, and Nana. My phone rang and I went into the kitchen. About thirty minutes later she came to me and said, "Mama, smell my breath." I asked her why and she said, "Because it smells like cake." I asked her where she got cake. She responded, with a HUGE smile on her face, "Papa gave it to me." Papa was gone to get gas. I sent Hannah to time out and told her when Papa got back he was going to time out too. I did fuss at him when he got back and he put himself in time out after he picked himself up from laughing so hard. She is very honest, hopefully she will stay that way.

Ghouls at Grassmere

Since we had not done enough fun things today we decided to go to the zoo tonight. Hannah was so excited. She went last year with Dad, Mr. Cody and Mrs. Tara. I am glad Hunter and I were able to go to the zoo instead of the emergency room this year. Uncle Kyle and Christie went with us. We gave Uncle Kyle a workout today. He said it was his family PT, the best kind. It was fun, but some of the things are a little scary. Hannah and Hunter were not scared at all. Hannah said, "This is not real, it is just pretend." Hunter just said, "BOO!" to everything. Hunter was a trooper. He did not take a really long nap but did okay as long as we kept moving. I was trying to get a good picture of him and Uncle Kyle and as you can tell he was DONE!! I think he is so cute in his monkey costume and he even makes monkey noises. Hannah loves dressing up and looked like a beautiful princess in her Snow White costume.

pumpkin patch

I can't believe that Halloween is in one week and we had not been to the pumpkin patch. Soccer has taken up our Saturday mornings since September. I really wanted to take the kids so today was the day. As soon as Hannah's game was over we left and went straight to the pumpkin patch for a picnic. We were happy the Glenn's wanted to go and picnic with us. The Miller's were there also, but they did not picnic. After our nice little picnic we moved on to the most important thing, playing. Hunter loved being able to run around. The kids had a great time. We were glad that Uncle Kyle and Christie wanted to be in on the fun and came along with us. Hannah was excited to see Sidney and play with her there. Sidney is on her soccer team and her mom is one of the coaches. When Hunter was about to fall over we decided to get our pumpkins and head home for naps. Hunter fell asleep about the time we pulled out of the parking lot. It took Hannah a little longer, but she feel asleep too. We had a great time. It was nice to spend time as a family with friends today.

a good game

Hannah had a great soccer game this morning. She went right on the field and played like she loved it. Glad it has only taken seven games to get to this point. She even kicked the ball today. That in itself is a huge accomplishment. When one of her teammates threw the ball in he hit her right in the head. She cried but did not come off the field, another huge accomplishment. She told me Tuesday night when we got to practice that she "loved this game." I told her I did not think she could say that. She said, "Well I do love it on Tuesday's." Nice, I need her to love it on Saturday's as well. I am proud of her for playing so well today. She was very excited that Uncle Kyle and Christie came to watch and cheer for her. Thanks for coming and we are glad someone in the family besides us got to see her play.

great day

I am so happy that Hunter is feeling much better. He has eaten everything in sight today. Hannah stayed home from school with us today. It was so nice to have no where to go until church tonight. We stayed in our PJ's for a while and just played inside. We finally got dressed about 10. I knew the bug man was coming to spray in the house and thought we should all be dressed before he came. Since the weather was so nice we went outside the play for a while. Hunter was very curious about the bug man. When he was walking up Hunter looked at him said, "Papa?" I think it is funny that any name with gray hair is a Papa to him. Trust me though he knows who is real Papa is. Hunter followed the bug man around and thought he was very funny. We ate a nice lunch on the porch and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. While Hunter napped Hannah and I watched a movie and I painted her fingernails and toenails with her new fun polish. I need to take a picture to post. When Hunter woke up we played some more until it was time to leave for church. We made a few stops along the way that all went much faster than I had thought they would. I did not think we did that much today to make the kids tired, but Hannah fell asleep on the way home from church. Hunter was not happy about going to bed but he went to sleep really fast. I am glad that I was able to spend today with both kids, they are both growing up way to fast. We were so busy playing that I did not take any pictures. Sorry, I will try to do better.

Fall Break

Today was my first day of Fall Break. I took both of the kids to school and came home to start on my to do list for the week. I really need to finish my report cards, but decided to clean instead. I cleaned my bathroom, changed the sheets, folded tons of laundry, went through and got things ready for consignment so all I have to do is price them, ate lunch on the porch, caught up on my Bible reading, and straightened our closet. I was about to start dinner when Nana called. I could hear Hunter crying in the background. She said he woke up from his nap with a fever. I called the doctor on my way out the door and they said to bring him in. He was sitting in Nana's lap with a cool cloth on his head. He did not make a sound the whole way to the doctor. When we got there he just sat in my lap. He usually loves to play with the train table, but he did not even try to get up. As soon as the nurse called us back he started crying. I think he remembered the last two times we were at the doctor he got shots. His temp was 100.4. The nurse decided that we should give him some Motrin since he felt so bad. When she came in with the medicine he went crazy. She had to just give it to me and go out so he would stop crying long enough to take the medicine. We had to wait about 45 minutes for the doctor and he sat in my lap the whole time. As soon she looked in his mouth she said yuck. His left tonsil is huge with puss pockets on it. She tested him for strep and said she would be back in about ten minutes. By the time she came back he had eaten a Popsicle and was sitting in the chair beside me reading a book. She said he did not have strep just tonsillitis. She said to give him anything cold to drink and/or eat for the next 3-5 days and he should feel better. She also said to give him Motrin and Tylenol to keep him comfortable. He will be staying home with me tomorrow and Wednesday for sure. I am glad I will get to spend time with him but wish he was not sick. I am going to send Hannah to school tomorrow, but will probably let her stay home so we can all play.
