SATURDAY!!!

I captured a moment of sweetness. It did not last long, but I did get a picture of them sharing and being so sweet to each other.
Uncle Kyle and Sam kept Hunter for us while Derrick, Hannah and I went to the movies with Mrs. Tara. We went to see Brave. Hannah liked it. I thought it was good, but it was not my favorite. I am sure it will grow on me. Once we got home they had a water balloon fight. I am not sure who had more fun.
Hunter loves playing games on the iPad. He is really good at figuring them out. I think he looks so big in this picture.
Hunter's hair grows so fast. I do not mind it being long on the top but I do not like it being long over his ears on in the back. Derrick was trying to clean it up a little. We had to wait until later in the day to let them play in the pool because it has been so hot today. I hope you all stayed cool today!

lost tooth and staying cool

Her second tooth finally came out at swim lessons last night. Derrick said he came back from changing clothes and Coach Jim was holding her tooth. I am so glad it came out, it was hanging and grossed me out.
Do you love that her big tooth is that far in?
Mr. Cool on the way to the pool.
 Silly boy!
He decided to sit with me and help himself to my drink. Good thing he is so cute!
I looked out this afternoon and the mama turkey was getting some water out of the pool. She and her baby walked away before I could take a picture. I am sad she only has one baby.
Leaving their last swim lesson. They both have come so far in these two weeks of lessons. Coach Jim said he wants to see Hannah and swim team Monday morning and both of them next year starting in April. I made a note in my phone to check into it for next year. We are so proud of them for being such good swimmers.
Hunter wanted me to take his picture by this red truck. I asked him why. He said because it is like Papa's and when he is big he is going to drive a truck like Papa and that he loves his Papa.
I wish this picture was not so dark. I love it. There was a dog in the yard and Derrick was trying to call it so Hunter could pet it. Hunter walked over to him and tried to call it too. The dog decided he would just go home.

stay at home day

Hunter asks all the time if it is a stay at home day and today it was. We did not go anywhere all morning. I left for class about 4:45 and Derrick and the kids took the kids to the pool before swim lessons about 5:15. I think we all needed a day at home. Tomorrow we will be back to the pool. I hope you all get to have a stay at home day soon, they are very nice.

guess where we went today

To the pool again!!!! That is what we seem to day almost everyday and I LOVE it. We get up, eat breakfast and head to the pool until lunch time. Then we come home and eat lunch. Hunter will then take a really good nap and some days Hannah naps as well. Mr. Steven bought nachos for Carson and Connor and shared them with Hannah and Hunter. When we were leaving Hunter said, "Thanks Uncle Steven." Hannah does not like the sun to be in her eyes so she just closes them in every picture I try to take at the pool. Hunter did not cry at all tonight when we went to swim lessons. He was just swimming like a pro. Hannah is doing awesome swimming all over the pool!

a day with friends

This morning we just played at home until time for lunch with Aunt Debbie and Jacqulin. Nana had sent this game back with Uncle Kyle. The kids love it. We had a nice lunch with Aunt Debbie and Jaqulin then came home for nap/rest time. After nap/rest time we went to the pool. Mrs. Sharon, Ty and Todd met us there for a little while. We were having a Backyard Kids Club meeting at Mrs. Sharon's house so we went straight there from the pool. The kids were happy to eat dinner with friends and get to play for a while. I did not take any pictures at lunch or dinner. I did get these pictures of them during break time at the pool and one this morning of them playing so nicely together.

we won

I think it was the pink socks!!!!!

You have to have 4 girls to play and we were the 4 tonight. I am glad more of our girls and guys will be back next week.

Wild Man can swim

Hunter has cried during swim lessons since day one. Tonight Uncle Kyle took them for us because Derrick and I had a kickball game at 6. Of course the night we are not there he did not cry and did this. Thanks Uncle Kyle for videoing him swimming and taking them for us. Hunter says he will not cry anymore at swim lessons. We will see Wednesday night.

lazy day

I was so glad that we were all able to be back at church today. It felt like we had not been in forever. After church we came home to eat lunch. I think Derrick is the only one who ate. Hunter fell asleep on the way home and Hannah did not want lunch. I sat down on the bed and told Derrick I wanted to just lay down for a minute. About three hours later I got up. I guess I was tired. We all ate a snack and left for kickball practice. Hunter was the only one who loved all the dust and dirt. He is so cute!!! After practice we ate dinner with Mrs. Julia at Firehouse. I think we are a little more ready for our game tomorrow night.

such a GREAT Dad

While Donna and I were playing the in the mud, Derrick had all four kids. He cooked them cinnamon rolls for breakfast, took them to Monkey Joe's and to Chick-fil-a for lunch. They were playing in the pool and yard when we got home. He was even nice enough to go pick up Mexican for us for dinner. The kids had mini corn dog muffins, thanks to Pinterest. After dinner we made s'mores to end our fun day. The kids were pretty tired so we put them to bed and then sat on the porch and talked for a while. We were pretty tired ourselves, but enjoyed being able to just sit and talk for a while. Thanks again Dad for keeping the the kids all day.

Muddy Buddy

I am so glad that I had such a great Muddy Buddy! I am not sure I would say we had a great time, but we did have some laughs along the way. Getting to the race was very entertaining. Julia and Sarah started at 9 and Donna and I started at 9:45. I wish we could have had our phones with us to take pictures along the way. Julia was able to get some pictures of Donna and I since we started after them. This was by far the hardest race I have ever done, but like I said I had the best buddy to do it with. My favorite obstacle was the huge slide. Enjoy these nice pictures. I can't remember the last time I was so excited to take a shower and put on clean clothes. I think we cleaned up very nicely. Thanks girls for doing the race and for the entertainment to and from.

fun in the sun

I thought sunshine cookies were fitting for summer time. I decided to make some cookies since Donna and the girls were coming.
Hannah was so excited when Mattison and Sophia got here a little after lunch. They had a great time playing outside until we got ready to go to the pool to swim.
They were all to busy for me to take a picture of them in the pool but they will stop long enough to eat a snack.
Hunter did not cry as much tonight but there were still some tears. Hopefully by this time next week he will not cry at all.

After swim lessons we went to Blue Coast and then of course had to go to Menchie's!

monkey bars

Hannah asks every night to do the monkey bars. Tonight she did it all by herself with just a little coaching from Dad.

Happy Thursday

Coach Jim asking Hannah to come to swim team. We went this morning to try it out. She did GREAT!!! This is what Hunter did while we waited on her to practice. She was in the far lanes so I did not get any pictures of her. She said it was hard and she did not know anyone so she did not want to go again. Hopefully she will change her mind. We do not want to make her go but think she would really like it if she would give it another chance.
He was very happy to finally make it to the outside pool to play. He likes to play about 10 minutes then dry off and eat a snack. He will eat snacks all day but is not a fan of eating meals.
Hannah on the other hand does not want to get out of the water until it is break time. As soon as the water comes back on and the lifeguards blow the whistle she is back in the pool.
They were still just long enough for me to get a quick picture of them.
When we came home Mrs. Tidwell called and asked if we would like some vegetables. I love fresh vegetables. I ate a tomato sandwich for lunch. It was DELICIOUS!!!!!!
Hunter woke up the other morning and came running in our room. He said, "Mom feel my leg a bone is coming out of it." Turns out it was just a mosquito bite. He is too funny! In case you were wondering, he cried the whole time at swim lessons again tonight. Maybe tomorrow night will be better.

she can swim

Last summer Hannah took swim lessons and did great. After lessons  and vacation we did not go to the pool much because Hunter was potty training and I did not feel like I could handle both of them by myself. I tried to get her to take the swim test before signing her up for swim lesson and she said no she did not want to take it. So, I signed her up a for lessons again. She did great the first night. Tuesday there were no swim lessons. Tonight when we got there Coach Jim divided the kids, big and little. He showed them a few things and then told Hannah to jump in and swim. I was not sure how that was going to work out. I should not have doubted her ability to swim. She swan the whole length of the pool. He asked her why she did not have a bracelet for passing the swim test and she said, "Because I never took it before." He told her she just did. She was so proud and excited. I was as well. She could not wait to tell Dad. She swam the length of the pool at least three more times. Coach Jim asked her to come to swim team practice in the morning. She seems excited about it. I hope she likes it. I love this precious face. We are so proud of you sweet girl!!!!!

the rest of the day

The teacher in me felt the need to take the kids to story time. I feel like I should do something educational with them. They were great during story time, but I cant say the same for the rest of the kids who were there. We may just go check out books the rest of the summer and have our own story time. Hannah was excited that Mrs. Tori showed Pete's a Pizza. They played on the playground for a little while after story time.
As soon as we got home Hannah started reading her library books. It makes me a little sad that she can read them without me. She tells me that I can just listen. I do love listening to her read.
Hunter was not interested in reading anymore stories. He wanted to string beads. I am impressed with his fine motor abilities. The beads were pretty small. It took him a while but he kept with it and got them all on.

Hunter was still not a fan of swim lessons. He just kept crying and calling for me. He is good about still doing what Coach Jim tells him even through the tears.
Kick, kick, kicking and crying the whole time.
Look at that sad face. His face was as sad as Hannah's was happy.
It made me really sad that he was so unhappy but when he can swim we will both me glad I made him take lessons.
