Kid's marathon

This is most of the students and teachers who were participating in the kids' marathon.
Hannah and I waiting our turn to run. I was excite to run with her this year. She had to finish her last mile.
Have you ever seen a group so happy to run?
Hannah, Mason and Ava all ready to run!
Hannah finished her mile in a little under 10 minutes. She likes hills about as much as I do.
 Proudly getting her medal.
26.2 miles completed! Way to go! We are so proud of you!
Thanks to our wonderful PE team for helping them run at school and tracking their miles. They are the best!
Hannah was excited that Cooper did the marathon with his school and that we got to see him. They were cheering for us, but we were too focused on running to see or hear them.
We ended our fun day with snack night.

is it a stay at home day?

YES!!! and this is how we spent the morning. Watching TV, reading, and being lazy.
Derrick and I went to watch Avatar with friends. We thought about having all blue food, but decided to go with tacos instead. Just a little blue dessert. It is always fun to hang out with the Bussell's and the Bryant's. Thanks MeMe for watching the kids for us.

a busy, but good day

We wish Papa could be here to hunt in our backyard for his birthday. These two gobblers were in the yard this morning.
My group at the Science Center today. We had a great time.
The moon walk was my favorite part of the trip. This is one of my kids doing it. My group loved that Mrs. Russell and I did it as well.
20 day countdown starts Monday! There is a fun activity in each of these balloons.

busted lip day 2 and soccer practice

Hunter's lip is not as swollen on the outside, but it looks pretty rough on the inside.

It was a beautiful night for soccer practice. He has so much fun!

it's all good until someone gets hurt

Hannah was chasing Hunter though the house and it ended with a big, fat busted lip and lots of tears by all. At least he still has all his teeth and we did not have to get stitches.

flowers and books

As we pulled into the driveway Hunter said, "Look, Mom, our tree got flowers today." He makes me laugh and amazes me that he pay so close attention to some things.
MeMe left Hannah money to shop at the book fair at school. These are the books she got for her and Buddy. Thanks MeMe!

1st soccer game and a walk in the park

Hunter is number 9. He did good keeping up the ball and even scored three goals. Too bad they were for the other team.

He had to take a water break.
Just looking cute!

After lunch we decided to go check out Long Hunter Park. We had just started walking and I looked and Hunter had a stick. He kept trading it for one a little big as we walked along.

Derrick tried to teach them how to skip rocks.

Hunter just wanted to throw them.

Hannah was able to skip a couple before we left.
It was fun to just spend the afternoon outside as a family.
Hannah needed to take a break when we came to this little shelter. She was using a stick to get mud to draw on the rock.
Derrick caught a bumble bee in their bug catcher. Hunter thought that was really cool.

Yeah!!!! We made it the whole 2 miles!

Hunter said, "Mom, take a picture of that pretty tree." So, here is the picture for all to enjoy.

oh, the warts

We went back to the wart doctor today. Hunter does not like going because they "cold" his warts. We got there early and sat in the car for a few minutes. I asked him if he was almost ready to go in and he quickly responded, "NO!" I asked him what we could do to make it easier/better for him. He thought for a minute and said, "I want to sing bless the Lord oh my soul." I quickly found it on youtube and we all sang the song together. When it went off I asked him if he was ready to which he still responded, "No!" I asked him what else we should do. He said, "How about you pray for me." That was a great idea. He wanted us to hold hands and pray. After we prayed I started getting him out of the car. He said, "Mom I am still not ready to go in." I told him I knew but we had to go see what she said about his warts. As soon as we got in the room and she came in he announced, "I do not like coming to this doctor because you hurt me when you cold my warts." Oh out of the mouth of babes. I wanted to crawl under the chair, but the doctor said she understood and that she did not like to have to cold his warts, but she wanted to make him all better. She did not cold his warts today she just put beetle juice on them. She suggested we go to a pediatric dermatologist. I let Hunter choose what he wanted for dinner since he was good and brave at the doctor. He of course choose Sonic.
Ruth had texted me to check on him and sent a picture of Andrew giving Hunter a thumbs up. Hunter had to send a picture back to them.

the moon

The first grade is doing their program, Journey to the Moon, this week. You can't very well journey to the moon with no moon, right? I told Derrick we needed a moon and this is what we got. I love that he is so talented.
