Great start to his birthday week

Hunter was so excited to stay home with Derrick today. They spent most of the day playing games at Dave & Buster's! Hunter loved it. He requested gout dogs with chili for dinner. We went yesterday to Whole Foods for him to pick out his cake. He was excited to eat the Oreo off the top and his slice of cake.

my little builder

Hunter waited patiently to build this ambulance Meme gave him for his birthday. It was a pretty day and dad was home so they got busy building.
He put the sticker on all by himself.
I love watching Derrick with the kids. It make my heart so happy!

family day

We were all glad that Derrick was off today so he could spend the day with us. We are sad he was out of town or working the whole time we have been out of school. It made us look forward to the weekends when he would be home with us. We went to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman. It was really cute!

Hannah and Hunter have spent the last two days playing and sleeping in the fire tent. Aunt Debbie gave this to us and the kids have loved it. Hannah is almost to long to lay in it, but that does not stop them. We can't wait until summer when we can get it out again and have lots more fun!

Sad our break is ending

We've had a great spring break. It has been so nice to just be home and not have an agenda for almost two weeks. We have just hung out and played. I have cleaned, updated the blog and pinned all my clothes for consignment that I had ready. It has been nice to visit with friends. Hunter got to spend most of the break out if school as well. We do not make him nap when he is home, but today I could tell he was too tired. Through tears he said, "I am NOT tired." This is who I found him when I went to check on him. I am glad that Derrickbis off tomorrow and we get to spend the day doing family things!

the finished porduct

Well, it took longer than I thought it would, which seems to be a going theme with me and Pinterest projects, but I love it.

Easter is my favorite sprig holiday. I am trying not to decorate too much until we have Hunter's birthday week.

For my first attempt I think they turned out well.

a Pinterest idea

I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was a good idea. I did not think it would going to take all day to do just this part. The kids wanted to help. They each did wrapped one balloon and were DONE. I did the other 31 balloons. I hope the finished product will turn out like the picture on Pinterest.

snow?!?!?!

I wish you could see the snow better. Hannah said, "Mom, why is it the 5th day of spring and snowing?" I did not have an answer for her.
This is not the hardest it snowed but I did not want to take a video while I was driving downtown when it snowed the hardest. We are hoping today is the last of winter.

We started this week of spring break trying out Hannah's new rainbow foil nail art she got for her birthday. She is thrilled with how they turned out!

Hunter was a great guide today at the zoo.
These girls sisters were so happy to spend the day together!
Here is the whole group!
We all had a great time. They were all good at lunch and got to sit at a "kid" table.

Family Party Day

Thanks for the fun birthday shirts Nene!
We were glad to have nice weather to grill and eat outside.
Cupcakes and ice cream to complete the meal!

Time for presents. They could  not wait any longer!

Since it was nice outside we took pictures of the kids with each set of grandparents, Nannie and Aunt Kim and Aunt Lori.

Thanks for a great weekend celebrating our sweet Hannah and Hunter!

2 more guest readers and birthday weekend kick off

Mrs. Dunn came and read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. She had props and the kids loved it!
After lunch Dr. High came and read Hop on Pop. The kids thought he was great as well. I am glad to work for people who will come and spend time in my room reading to my sweet kids.
We are celebrating both kids birthdays this weekend with all of the grandparents, aunts and great grandma. We went out to eat and Nene told them it was the kids birthdays. The kids LOVED it.

We had a fun day counting and sorting. I forgot to take a picture of their blue jello with one red fish in it. They have come so far since August. I can't believe I only have 9 weeks left with them.

Horton's Encore and Wacky Wednesday

This is just Hannah's part in the program. She did great again this morning.
Great job 2nd grade!
Not all of my kids were into dressing wacky, but we still have a great day.
This was my student who dressed the wackiest. Love her!

Fox in Socks and Horton

Look at all of our silly socks!
One of my students' dad came to read today. He even wore silly socks!
Hannah wore her Horton socks today to get her ready to be Horton in their second grade musical tonight. She is so excited.
Mr. Currie, our music teacher, is amazing. He always does the best programs. This one was awesome. I am glad to work with such great people.
Our sweet Horton. She did not get. I think I held my breath while she was saying her lines. She never missed a beat and did not seem nervous at all. We are so proud of her!
 Blue fish and Horton

I will try to take more pictures and video just Hannah's part when they do the encore performance in the morning for the school. I need to take a picture of the backdrop that two of our fabulous parents made. They did a GREAT job!

Cat in the Hat is Cool and so is the Tooth Fairy

Nothing like a good dental health lesson from the Tooth Fairy herself!

Thanks Deborah for coming to read to my class.
I love these kids!
