Hannah is getting taller because she can reach a lot more things now, without help. I had the trail mix in the pantry that I was snacking on. She told me she was looking for a snack while I was cooking dinner. When I looked again she had the bag of trail mix and was sitting in the floor eating it. After a few bites she decided it was too hot for her and she wanted me to put it up and give her some milk.
We decided to check out the Arts & Craft Fair at Centennial Park. Hannah did well riding in her stroller for a while. She really liked looking at all of the dogs. She was ready to get out soon and look for the ducks and gooses. We kept telling her they were geese, if there was more than one. She liked feeding them her geese her goldfish. She one white duck at out of hand, and that she did not like. She also enjoyed climbing on the big steps at the Parthenon. It was a beautiful afternoon. We did not fine anything we needed but had a great time enjoying each others company. Derrick thought the bird houses were neat. They did look cool.
We went to the puppet show at the library this morning. Hannah wanted to know where the frog and Princess were? (That is the last puppet show we went to.) She was glad to ride in Ty's car and hold his hand to go into the library. Cooper came too. It was fun to see them all together. They were all very good during the show. Ty and Hannah were not scared of the puppets this time. Thanks Mrs. Sharon for knowing when the puppet shows are. (According to Hannah only Mrs. Sharon know when the puppet shows are and how to get to them.) After the puppet show and checking out some books and the toys there, we went to Wendy's for lunch. Thanks for a fun Saturday morning.
Hannah was so excited that we were going to the library and getting to ride in Ty's car. We were waiting for Ty's and she was looking at her books one last time. She loves the book Yummy Yucky. Our books were due back today so we were glad to be going to the library for the puppet show.
A little girl in Hannah's class had a birthday today. She brought goody bags for all of the kids. Hannah was playing with the favor that you blow and it sticks out and then curls back up. I thought, "That is a nice favor." When we got home and looked in the bag we found things we did not think were appropriate for a 2 year old. Such as a fireball, piece of hard candy, bubble gum and a plastic toy gun. I was just amazed. Hannah wanted to taste the fireball, but when we licked enough to get the hot she was finished with it. We will choose different favors to put in the goody bags for Hannah's birthday.
Mrs. Jenn had pumpkins growing in her garden. She wated to pick them before they rotted. She asked if I wanted to bring Hannah by. Hannah would not talk to Mrs. Jenn or Alan at all. She may have said five words to them. She did enjoy playing in the dirt with Alan's tractor and playing with the balls. She did whisper thank you to Austin for carrying the pumpkin to our car. Once we got in the car she talked the whole way home about seeing the pumpkins, Alan playing, the vines, seeing Mrs. Jenn, Alan and their dad and brother (Mr. Rob and Austin). When we got home we put the pumpkin on the table and Hannah said, "Mrs. Jenn so nice to give me a pumpkin." Thanks Mrs. Jenn and Alan for letting us come pick a pumpkin.
Derrick found play-doh toys I had not shown Hannah yet. He showed her how to use all of them. She played with them for about 45 minutes. She was a helper for Dad when he planted the new flowers. She wanted to give him the dirt to put on the flowers. All day she kept asking when everyone was coming over. We had told her after nap everyone would come. I did not take any pictures of everyone here, but we had a great time. Check out Cooper's and Ty and Todd's blog for pictures of "everyone" here.
Hannah did not like Uncle Kyle using her chair to rest his head while playing a game. She decided that if she sat in the chair it was ok for him to use the chair. She was laughing at him playing the game. She seems to crack herself up a lot these days.
We took Hannah to see Disney on Ice tonight. She did not want to nap today so on our way there she went to sleep. She slept on the way in and until the show got started good. She was not sure about it at first, but when she woke up good she loved it. Ariel was her favorite, but she did enjoy the rest. Here are some pictures of the show. We could not get great pictures, but they turned out okay.
I have been trying to teach Hannah when her birthday is. Some of my kindergarten students do not know their birthday and I don't want that to be Hannah. She told us on the way home from dinner and shopping tonight that her birthday in March 5th and she will be three. She has a hard time putting up 3 fingers but tries then asks for help. I may has posted this before, but she also knows our names. She will say my mommy is Mrs. Heather and my daddy is Mr. Derrick. That is something else that some of my kindergartens for not know. Now we just have to work on her address and phone number. I am sure she would learn it if we told her enough.
Uncle Kyle took Hannah to the zoo today while Derrick and I worked in the yard. She had a great time. She was sound asleep when Kyle pulled in the driveway. She told me that the Meerkat's were her favorite. When I asked her why she said because they sat by her in her stroller. I am guessing that means she could get close to the glass. She also liked the elephants, snakes, and monkeys. Thanks Uncle Kyle for taking her to the zoo.
Today we cleaned off the porch, dug up the rest of the iris' and pruned the dogwood trees. As you can tell from Derrick's feet it was dirty work. It was a little sad putting all of the summer toys away. We did leave out the chalk and one thing of bubbles. The porch looks much better but also a little empty. The trees coming up the drive look a lot better being pruned and with all of the iris' gone. I am glad it is done, but I don't want to see any more iris' for a long time.
We took Uncle Kyle to eat Sushi for his birthday tonight. We were waiting to order and Hannah said, "Look the muffin man is making our food." The Sushi chef was wearing a hat and Hannah thought it looked like the muffin man. We all got a good laugh out of that. We are not sure where she has seen a muffin man wearing a white hat, but I am sure she has. The night before when we were getting her ready for bed, we pulled her shirt off and left it on her head for her to finish taking off. She proudly said, "Look at me I look like the muffin man." She is too much fun!! Dad and Uncle Kyle said the "Muffin Man" made good sushi.
Thanks to everyone who voted. I am glad to know that 17 people read the blog. I will put a poll up closer to time for everyone to vote if we are having a boy or a girl.
Hannah was excited to go to Rachel's baby shower with me. She did not walk to talk to Rachel when we got there. She did go right to Flex and talked to her. She also liked looking at pictures of Madden. We hate that we did not get to stay longer, but we had to get Hannah to gymnastics.
Hannah was very excited when she got up from her nap today and Uncle Kyle was here. He is moving in with us to go to school here. We had not told her he was coming, because we did not want to hear everyday, "Is Uncle Kyle coming today?" She was so happy to see him and his snake. She did not want to hold Hephaestus but did pet and talk to him. We are glad to have Uncle Kyle here and the snake too.
Since she is good at all of these things we know she will be a great big sister.
Baby Hood is due in April. (Either the 10th, 12th, or 18th, the doctor said she would give me a definite due date when I come back in October.) When we told Hannah this morning she said she wanted a brother and a sister. She also wanted to look in my belly button to see the baby. She was a little disappointed that she could not see the baby through my belly button.
Hannah did. She loves to play in our bathroom. Dad is not good at putting the toothpaste back where it goes. When we asked Hannah what happened to the toothpaste she said, "I squeeze the toothpaste and make it come out." She is getting tall enough to reach everything now.
Hannah was so excited to eat dinner with Ty tonight. We tried to go to Snappy Tomato, but it was too crowded. We ended up at Applebee's. Ty and Hannah ate a good dinner and had fun entertaining each other across the table. They even sang the blessing they sing at school for us. A lady who was leaving even stopped to comment about how well behaved they had been. I am glad it was a peaceful meal. Thanks for calling to and asking us to dinner.
Hannah got her new books, CD and instrument tonight at Kindermusik tonight. Derrick took her so I could get ready for Bible Study. He said she did well. I tried to take her picture with her new things, but she wanted no part of it. The instrument is called a stir xylophone, which goes well with the Milk and Cookie theme. I hope to get a video of her playing the stir xylophone. It does sound really neat.
We were so glad that Kylie came to gymnastics tonight. Hannah was a little to worried about making sure that Kylie was doing what Miss Sara said that she was not listening herself. I am sure the more Kylie comes the better Hannah will do. She likes the stamps that Miss Sara gives her and she knows if she does not listen she does not get stamps. I am amazed each week and what she will do, all by herself.
We have seen deer, turkey, squirrels, groundhogs, a mole, a cat, two different dogs, and birds in our back yard. Tonight we were able to add Thomas the Tank Engine to our list of backyard visitors. While we were getting off the computer with Mike and Nene we heard a train whistle. It was Mr. Tucker driving Thomas to pick us up to come to their house to visit. Hannah loved it. She went on several rides. Thomas even brought us back to our house so we would not have to walk. While we were visiting Hannah ate some ice cream and played on the car and swing. She had a great time playing with Ansley and Jack Ryan.
