much better

Hunter slept good last night. I called the doctor this morning and she said she did not need to see him. She said if I had any concerns to call back and they would see him. He still slept a good bit today but was much more active and more like himself. He did not want his bottles but loved eating Ritz.

what a day

Well, today went nothing like I had planned or thought it would. I had taken half a day off work so I could take Hunter to the doctor. He has been coughing and wheezing again and pulling at his ears some. I wanted to have him checked out before we left for Florida and South Carolina. I had planned to come home, eat some lunch, go to the doctor, go get my license renewed, and then get Hannah. The only thing I did was take Hunter to the doctor.

When I got home Mrs. Tidwell said that Hunter was still asleep. Derrick had called me at school around 10:15 to tell me he was asleep and had not had breakfast. I told him to just let him sleep and make a bottle so Mrs. Tidwell could feed him if he woke up before I got home. (Derrick had to be at work at 11 and I did not get off until 11:30 so Mrs. Tidwell came to sit with Hunter for us. I loving having good neighbors.) When I got home Hunter was in our bed asleep. He as starting to stir a little so I went to get him. Derrick had him under all of the covers. I thought he would be burning up. When I picked him up he was not hot at all. He was freezing cold. He looked at me for a minute and then put his head down on my shoulder. I told Mrs. Tidwell it was a good thing I already had an appointment because he must really be sick now. I checked his temp and is was 95.1. I thought something was wrong with my thermometer, so I got another one and it was still 95. I found a third one and it was still 95 no matter how I checked it. I called the doctors office because not only was he cold he would not really wake up for me. They told me to warm some blankets and wrap him up, to feed him a bottle and to give him a treatment, then call back and tell them what his temp was. I did all the things they asked me to and his temp for still 95. When I called back they said to come on in. I was trying not to freak out, but was VERY scared and worried about my sweet Hunter bug.
When I got to the office they took me straight back to a room and the doctor check his temp with two different thermometers. It was still 95. She went out to talk to the other doctor and Nurse Heather came in to check his temp with two other thermometers. It was 95 on one and 96 on the other. The doctor came back in and told me she wanted me to go straight to the emergency room to have him checked out. She said that sometimes when you have an infection your temperature will drop, but usually not in babies his age. She said he had hypothermia. I was shocked. How could he have hypothermia? I left the doctor's office and went straight to Vanderbilt ER with my sweet bud. The nurses and doctors were great. They did several test and after a few hours his temp was up to 99.7. They said better to be up than down. After several more hours they determined that he had bronchiolitis. I was glad we got to come home and did not have to be admitted and spend the night.
I was glad to have the girls from my team and Chip to come and sit with me. I am so blessed to work with such wonderful people. I love you all.
Please pray that Hunter gets better quickly. I am taking tomorrow off to stay home with him.

I am the worst mom ever

I pinched Hunter with is paci clip. It looks really good now, but that does not make me feel any better. He is such a tough guy. He cried when I first did it, but then never complained again. He was pinched for a LONG time. I felt awful!!!!!!!! and still do. Derrick so kindly told that one thing was for sure, I would never do it again. I told Hunter I was sorry over and over and he just smiled and laughed. I guess that means he forgives me.

they are way too cute

I hope they will always love each other this much.

Look at those cute little bottoms. Nene brought them these sweet pj's. I needed a picture for December for the calendar I make each year for Christmas presents. I thought this picture would be perfect. Thanks Nene for the cute and fun pj's.

Sesame Street Live

We had a great time at Sesame Street Live this morning with Cooper, Allison and Jeremy. Hannah was so excited to see Abby Cadabby. She said that was her favorite part. It was fun to go and be able to spend time with just her. Dad had to so to SC to shoot Kyle Bracken's wedding and Mike and Nene came to keep Hunter. Thanks Mike and Nene for coming to spend the weekend and help with the kids.

why I did the 5k

These are two girls from my Sunday school class and Bible study group. Tara and Allison. Allison is a runner. She has been enouraging me to run for a while. She told me I should do this race. I am not a runner, but hope to become one. I need to exercise and running is good exercise, so I thought I would give it a try. Julia, Julie and I had been running almost everyday after school so we would be ready for tonight. All of our hard work paid off. I was able to run at least half, if not a little more, of the 3.1 miles. Thanks Allison for encouraging me to run. I love it and hope to become a good runner.

The Sunday School group. Tara, Cody, Allison and me. Jeremy was going to run but sat out with Cooper. Thanks Jeremy for cheering us on and taking the picture for us.

my first 5k

Julia and I survived the race and were not to frozen to smile.
We had great support, not just from our kindergarten team, but from the school. I love this poster they put up for us. Thanks Steph for being the ring leader in this project.
The girls I ran with. Me, Julia, Julie and Tara. Don't Tara's bangs look good, not a hair out of place.
The Kelley crew. Stacy, me, Julia, and Julie. We all had on A.Z. Kelley shirts but it was too cold to take our jackets off.

We not only got Julia to wear antlers, but we also got her to put on the red nose. Too bad we did not do them both for a picture. Thanks girls for running the race with me. I had a great time.

8 months

I can't believe that Hunter is 8 months old today. He is getting so big. He is sitting very well, rolling all over the place, clapping his hands, and we just started giving him some real food, mashed up of course. He loves playing with toys and watching Hannah do everything. Derrick took him to the doctor to have his ears rechecked yesterday and the doctor said he was as healthy as a horse. We were glad to hear that.

she is fast

I was trying to straighten the house a little and needed to find a job for Hannah. I was in the kitchen, so I asked her to come and put her letters in order. I thought it would take her a good five minutes and could finish in the kitchen. She was done before I could get the counters wiped off. She is too smart. I am very proud of her for knowing her letters and putting them in order.
