breakfast

My sweet Hannah has been wanting to fix me breakfast for about a week. She came to me last night and told me she was going to leave my breakfast on the table. This is what she left me. She is so sweet! My breakfast was very yummy. Thanks Hannah!

back to the real world

Today I had to officially return to work for the 11-12 school year. We had a great summer and I am very sad for it to be over. I am usually a little ready to go back to school and get back into some kind of routine, but not this year. I am sure once I get back in the swing of things it will be fine. I do not mind some change, but a lot of change at one time is not my favorite thing. This year I will be teaching first grade, have new standards to learn, a new math series, and a new evaluation process. I also have to adjust my schedule to having Hannah with me at school. I am use to going to school early and being able to work for a little while after school before picking the kids up. I am excited that she will be with me everyday though. I am sure it will all work out fine and I will adjust.

he is so resourceful

When I came home today this is what I saw in the basement. Derrick is painting the table he made me for my classroom and was trying to speed up the drying process. He is very resourceful.

our beautiful flower girl

Derrick and I were both a little nervous about how Hannah would do being a flower girl. I tried to talk to her about what she would have to do. Derrick said she was going to get scared and not go down the isle at all. I also prayed really hard that she would do great. She did great at rehearsal and at the wedding. I do wish she would have smiled a little more in the pictures, but she did great and had a wonderful time.

kindergarten orientation

I made cookies to match each of the teachers' themes. I thought they turned out pretty good.
Today was Hannah's kindergarten orientation. We took all the kindergarten teachers a little treat. She loved going to school and is very excited to be at A.Z. Kelley this coming year. I still can't believe that she is going to be in kindergarten. It was very different being the parent today and not the teacher.

pool & potty

We decided to go to the pool this afternoon after we picked up Hunter. It turned out to be a little drama filled, but at least we got to play for a little while.

I am sure Hunter will really appreciate me putting this picture on the blog. He is into taking "Monkey George" with him everywhere, even to go potty.

Hunter

I have tried twice to re-upload the video. I will have to get Derrick to look at it.

I thought I would let Hunter tell everyone about his school experience so far. Enjoy!

dress fitting

Nene made this sweet dress for Hannah to wear in a wedding. Hannah is so excited to be a flower girl. I am so excited that Nene can sew. I think she looks so pretty in her flower girl dress. I hope the bride to be will like it as well.

Discovery Center & Eye Doctor

It was a little strange taking Hunter to school and not having him with us all day. Hannah and I went to the Discovery Center and met Ty, Todd, Carson, & Cooper. Their mom's came as well along with one of Allison's friend and her youngest daughter. They kids had a great time playing. Hannah and I had to leave at lunch time so we could get some lunch and be at the eye doctor by 1:15. I went to the eye doctor in July and asked when kids should start seeing an eye doctor. He told me before they start school. Lucky for us they had an opening today. Hannah did great and thought it was really fun. She did not want me to go with her. She thinks she is so grown up. She has 20/20 vision and the doctor was pleased with how healthy her eyes looked. She even got a free shirt.

Hunter's first day of school

It was a sad morning taking Hunter to "school" for the first time. I think he is going to love it, but it was hard dropping him off with strangers. His teacher is Ms. Maria and she seems really sweet. Two girls I work with have had her for their child's teacher and loved her. He was so excited to take his "pack pack" to school this morning. It is hard to believe that he is already 2, potty trained, and going to school.
