oh happy day

Today has been a great day! I got to wear jeans to school, I had a sonic coke zero with vanilla, it is Friday, I have a precious class, I have a wonderful husband, fantastic kids and the weather today is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I hope you all had a great day and are able to name a few things you are thankful for today.

the completed tree

I think our tree turned out so cut. The kids learned so much about trees, black bears, raccoons, and owls this week. I was surprised at how much they remembered when we reviewed each day.

tree homes

 This week we are learning about Tree Homes. We are making a tree first. I was surprised by all the information my students knew about trees. They all had a great time painting.

Today we made the leaves and put the branches on. We also talked about birds and black bears. Tomorrow we will talk about raccoons. This is our tree so far. I will take another picture when we have all of our animals in the tree. 

sweetness all around

He is just sweet even when he makes me crazy.

 Derrick was sweet and made these shelves for Hannah's playhouse. 

Hannah left me this erasable crayon and note on my desk. She remembered I was looking for erasable crayons to use at school for my kids to practice writing their names.

who do these kids belong to?

 Hunter wanted to color outside. He asked me if he could use my box of crayons. I told him he has plenty of crayons in his box. He said, "I know but mine do not have a point on them and I need crayons with a point of them to color good." How can I say no to that?  Once he sat down he realized the sun was really bright. He got up and went inside to get the umbrella. This is how he solved the problem of it being to bright.

Hannah asked me to come to the playhouse aka school to see what she had done. She wrote we can statements for Hunter. We have we can statements at school and she must pay attention. She wrote some pretty good ones. She was working on lesson plans for Hunter after she finished the we can statements.

I am glad they like to play school. Hannah always likes real school. Hunter had a rough start to Pre-K but he is starting to like it a little better. I am glad they are both a good mix of Derrick and I. There is no denying that they belong to us and for that I am thankful!

Pre-K fun and spikes

 Look at all of these sweet little hands. I have the best class. They are so sweet and really good for the most part. This week we are learning all about me. I love seeing how excited they get to learn!

The spikes did not do too well today. We hope they will do better tomorrow with this.

the real haircut

He now has spikes. I know he does not look happy in this picture, but that is because it is hard to smile when your mouth is full of bubble gum. I think he looks so grown up with this haircut.

 I think her hair looks great for our first attempt at sponge rollers.

Saturdays are the best

 Hannah has been wanting to try her new sponge rollers from Nene, so we decided tonight was a good night. We will see what it looks like in the morning.

When Hunter plays hard, stays up later than usual, and does not nap this is what happens. He fell asleep in the car on the way home for dinner. MeMe got him out of the car and he didn't wake up. She sat with him on the porch for a little while and he didn't wake up. She brought him in and tried to make him go potty and he didn't wake up. She put him in the bed and guess what? He didn't wake up. Hopefully he will sleep all night and not be up at 3 in the morning ready to play.

Do you see that? It is color on the wall. Derrick started painting the hallway. I love when he has time and can work on our house. I am hoping the kids bathroom is next to be completed.

consignment find and OH MY!

 This is one of Hannah's favorite things I bought for her last night. She is so cute in it!

While I was working consignment tonight Derrick text me this picture. Nice, Hunter gave himself a haircut. As you can tell he is really upset about it. I am glad I was not home when it happened. I guess he will be getting a real haircut soon. He has not had a great week and this might have pushed me over the edge if I had been home. Oh this boy!
