oh this girl

Hannah and Hunter had been playing at the Tucker's all afternoon. Derrick when to get them and Hannah was hanging on a bar upside down. He pulled her hair up on top of her head. She was in a silly mood and looked too cute to not take her picture. I sure do love her!

a stay home day

Hannah has been very busy making more bracelets and rings.
Hunter yelled from his room, "There is going to be a lot of noise, I've got to do a little work under here."
While cleaning up Hannah's room I found this list she made. Oh my, she gets this from me.
I was very sad when she told me she wanted to take her kitchen out of her room so she could get a desk. I know she is growing up and there are more and more things she will want to let go. This is her desk for now and she loves it.

happiness

Derrick taught Hannah how to text from her ipad so she could "talk" to him while he was out of town. She loves it! She has started texting me every morning. I introduced her to emoji and she thinks they are great!
We learned how to make bracelets and rings on the rainbow loom today. She thinks that is the best thing ever. Thanks Mike and Nene.
Since it is fall break and they have been good for me this week we made a stop by Krispy Kreme on the way home from swim team.
We enjoyed our donuts while we watched Ramona and Beezus. It was a great movie, if you have not seen it you should.

all in a day

Hannah let me try a new braid today and I think it turned out pretty good.
Hunter had to have filling today. I was ready to go back and sit with him, but he quickly told me that he could go by himself because he was brave. Part of me was proud and part of me wanted to cry that he did not want/need me to go with him. He told me they put a mask on him and it tasted like oranges and then they put play doug on his tooth and shined a lite on it to make it hard. Sounds like he was listening and understood all they did.
We went to the mall to look for him some jeans. I am happy that he has outgrown his 2T jeans, but 3T are too long. I need someone to make 2.5T. He wanted to ride the escalator and decided to run to get on it. It did not end well as you can see. What did he learn? That the escalator will bite you!
Check out these Spiderman glasses. He is one cool Spiderman. Thanks Nene and Mike!
 Sweetness.
He got really quiet on the way to church and I knew this is what I would find when I looked back. More sweetness!

field trip and flu shots

Hunter was so excited because today was his first field trip which also meant his first time to ride on a bus and he got to pack his lunch. Wow, that is a big day!
 Getting off the bus!
Listening to a story about how pumpkins grow.
Looking for just the right pumpkin.
 The perfect one!
He loves the slides at Walden Farms.
 Climbing with his friends.
 Can you say trouble?
He wanted to make silly faces, so we did!

All the kids thought this was the funniest thing they saw while on the hayride.
Making his way through the hay maze.
Learning a little about the cows.
Lunch time! I am glad that Hannah and I were out of school so we could go with him.
We all had fun!
We made a stop my Sonic for a drink and came home to play for a little while. Hunter decided that he needed his sunglasses, but had to clean them first. He is whistling while he is cleaning them. He makes me laugh so much.
We had to get flu shots this afternoon. I know, not a great way to end the afternoon, but it had to be done. They were not upset about it. Hunter quickly asked Nurse Heather if he could have a Popsicle and get something from the treasure box. He also volunteered Hannah to get her shot first. They both did great. Hannah did not even make a face and she watched. Hunter made a sad face but did not cry.
I went to get my shot next. I did not cry either, but I also did not watch. The nice lady who gave me my shot gave us all a sticker for being so brave. Hopefully we will all be well through the winter now.

beautiful

After all the rain and gray skies look at this beautiful sunset God ended our day with. What a mighty, awesome, wonderful God we serve.

swim meet

Hannah finally got her team bathing suit. This is the best picture I could get today.
Derrick is adding more color to the shark. I think he also drew some on other team members today.
She was excited to swim in all four events.
 Backstroke!
Hunter just LOVES coming to swim meets.

She did really well today. She swam freestyle 7 seconds faster than the last meet. Her time was 23 seconds. I tried to video her swimming the butterfly but I was too busy watching her and not the video, it is of the water and me cheering for her. I will try to do better at the next meet. She was glad that Nana and Papa were here to watch her swim.

my smart boy

I might stress a little or a lot about Hunter learning his letters and sounds. I know I can't compare him to Hannah, but it is really hard not to. There are lots of things he can do that she could not at this age, but they are not academic things. We played a little game of name and match the letters and I was so surprised at all the letters he knows. Since it is Friday night did not test him on sounds. He knows all the letters at the top. According to the Pre-K standards he is good to go. They have to know 10 or more upper and lowercase letters by the end of the year. I know in my heart that he will be fine and will be more than ready for kindergarten. I just have to tell my mind to stop stressing about it and let him be a little 4 year old, fun, wild, boy.

walk to school day

This was the only picture I got of Hannah. She was only worried about walking with Mr. Jett, her teacher. He is the tall man behind her. I think she thinks she is getting to big to have her picture made with me in front of her friends. Maybe next year when Hunter is there to walk with us she will take a picture with us. Thanks PE team for always organizing this for us.
