sickness go away

Hunter woke up sick Wednesday morning. I knew when he asked to go to bed at 4pm that was not a good sign. A week ago Hannah woke up sick, but it only lasted about 12 hours. He was sick Wednesday and Thursday. I took him to the doctor and she said it was just a virus, probably what Hannah had, but just effecting him differently. By Thursday night he was feeling better and I started feeling bad. I stayed home Friday. Today we are all feeling better and Derrick has not gotten sick. Hopefully it has passed and I have cleaned all of the germs away.

100th Day of School

This took way longer than I thought but I love it and it was worth seeing my kids so happy this morning that I had Pete the Cat on my shirt. Thanks Derrick for painting Pete for me. You are the best!

Some 100th Day fun in Hunter's class. I'm glad I have friends who come and help and send me pictures!

How cute is his cape with 100 stickers?!?!

Working with a friend to help make the chain 100 links long!
Look at this beautiful handwriting! I am so proud of him and Mrs. Smith for her patients in teaching handwriting. It is one of the most important skills they learn in kindergarten.
When we came home today he asked if he could take a shower and lay down. I went to check on him and found this. I'm not sure this is good.

Compassion Sunday

Our church hosted the Compassion Experience this weekend. We went through Uganda today after church. We sponsor a child there so we wanted to see what it was like. We heard a little girl's story as we walked through her life. It was really eye opening. I wish we could have gone through them all. Here are Hunter's thoughts on what he heard and saw.

a story by Hunter

Hunter was so proud to come to my room and read this to me. I am so proud of him for writing so much. I am glad both kids like to write, but I am not sure were they get it from. I'm going to give all the credit to the great teachers they have.

Just in case you can't read what it says here is Hunter reading it to you.

sisters

Better late, than never! The girls were so excited to get to spend some time together and exchange Christmas presents. They are funny to listen to. I pray their friendship continues to grow and lasts a lifetime.

SKG Date #1

Hannah and I went on a date this afternoon. Sarah told me about a book  (8 Great Dates for Moms and Daughters) that she was doing with Kylie, Hannah's sister, and we are excited to do it with them.
She was excited to go to The Melting Pot!
 Cheese Fondue
Her gift, a china tea cup.
 Chocolate Fondue
Lesson we learned:  God Himself took the time to carefully craft you into being! You must be a masterpiece!

Hannah's School Christmas Program

Mr. Currie is the best music teacher, he always puts on the best programs. I am proud of Hannah for wanting to sing a solo and doing so well. I do not know where she gets it from, Derrick and I are not performers and don't like to be in front of a lot of people. She did great and we are so proud of her.

Christmas Programs at Church

Tonight we enjoyed hearing Hunter sing with the Pre-School Choir.
Than watching Hannah sing with the Children's Choir.
Opening number. Hannah was a reindeer.

Hannah singing her first solo ever. I was so nervous, but she was not.

Here is her solo.

She was also a dancer for the Angel Rap song.
We were thankful that Nathan and his family came, as well has Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Julia.
Hannah was very excited that her "sister" came to watch.

We celebrated by going to dinner with the Bussells at Blue Coast, Hannah's favorite place to eat!
