family day

We were so excited that Derrick was in town and off work today. He got to spend the whole day with us. We started the day at the zoo.

 We had to wait in line to pet the kangaroo. Derrick told Hunter it had been hit by a stroller. Hunter thought it was dead. The zoo keeper said that she just loves to be petted and when she is done she will get up. Derrick said that she has just been petted to death. He is so funny! It was really neat to get to pet a kangaroo.

The kids wanted to play on the playground. Hunter played in the little kid area, went down the slide a few times and then found the swings. He LOVES to swing. Hannah was never still long enough for me to take her picture.

We had lunch at Sonic and then came home to play for a while. Derrick took the kids swimming while I went to class. I am not a fan of indoor pools so I am very thankful that he will take them swimming.

I am glad we were able to spend the whole day as a family!
