8 months

I can't believe that Hunter is 8 months old today. He is getting so big. He is sitting very well, rolling all over the place, clapping his hands, and we just started giving him some real good, mashed up of course. He loves playing with toys and watching Hannah do everything. Derrick took him to the doctor to have his ears rechecked yesterday and the doctor said he was as healthy as a horse. We were glad to hear that.

before I forget

I really am going to update soon. We are always so busy.

Tonight I was getting Hannah ready for bed and she decided she need to count her hair bows. She not only counted to 29 with no help but did it touching the bow, which is great one-to-one correspondence for a three and a half year old. She has 38 bows, but needed a little help with 30, but then could count to 38. She said twenty-ten instead of thirty. Pretty good if I have to say so myself. I have some kids in my class who can't count that high, much less do one-to-one correspondence.

Derrick and Hannah decorated the Christmas tree tonight. She loves decorating. I am so excited that I have a little helper to decorate with now. I look forward to getting more of the house finished so we can really decorate and not just for Christmas. Hunter watched him and showed his approval by clapping his hands. He is so cute. I hope to catch him clapping on video soon. He is growing too fast!!

Right before we put Hannah to bed she said, "Can I please eat breakfast in the house in the morning?" Derrick asked her where else she would eat. She said, "In the car." I do not like her having to eat breakfast in the car anymore than she does, but we just have to leave too early. I would much rather her sleep a little later and eat in the car than get her up even earlier so she can eat in the house. Derrick told her that he could take her to school in the morning so she would be able to eat breakfast in the house.

Hunters dr. appointment

I took Hunter to the doctor this afternoon for his second seasonal flu shot and to get his ears rechecked. His right ear looked great but his left ear was still red with a little fluid. She decided to let him finish his medicine, which he will finish tomorrow, and feels like it will clear up on it own. I hope. He also got his first H1N1 shot. We were not going to give him one but since he had been sick twice since is six month check up she thought it would be a good idea. He did great with both shots. He just whimpered for a minute then was fine. He is such a GREAT baby.

decisions, decisions

Hannah has been learning about the letter B this week. Tonight I asked her what she was going to take for show and tell tomorrow. She said, "I might take a block or baby or ball. Maybe I will go to my room and think about it." I told her to let me know when she decided so I could put her name on it and put it with our things so we would not forget it in the morning. About 20 minutes later she came into the living room. She was smiling so big. I asked her if she had decided what to take for show and tell. She said, "Yes, I am going to take this princess. Her name is Belle and that starts with a B. Do you hear the b? (Then she made the B sound several times.) I am glad that she took her homework assignment so seriously. She is pretty good at make decisions on her own.

Hannah's Christmas Tree

She said, "Take a picture of my BEAUTIFUL Christmas tree!!!"
She wanted to sleep in Christmas pj's to match her tree.

We bought Hannah a Christmas tree for her room this year. She has had a small one since her first Christmas, but I wanted her to have a tree that she could really decorate. She wanted a tree with colored lights. I took her Friday and we bought a few things for it, so it could be well decorated. I had to put the star on, she said she was just not tall enough to reach, tie the skirt and put the "shinny stars" around it to make it sparkle. She did the rest. I love that all of the ornaments are in one place. I think she is going to love decorating for Christmas as much as I do. I can't wait until we have the living room finished so we can really decorate.

Happy Birthday, Dad!!!

Happy 30th Birthday Dad!!! He decided to keep Hannah home from school today so they could spend the day together. He is not only the best husband ever, but the greatest Dad. Hannah loves to do anything with him. She was very sad that we did not have cake and balloons for him on his birthday. Sorry Dad, not enough hours in the day. Since he is getting ready to go out of town tomorrow we did not really do anything special. We did go to Bass Pro and Wal-Mart so he could get the rest of the things he needed to pack. Thanks Mrs. Julia for sitting with the kids while we went. Happy Birthday, we all love you the most!!!

I knew it would happen

Last night Hunter woke up at 2:30 am. He never wakes up in the middle of the night. He was wheezing so I gave him a treatment, which must have helped because he went back to sleep pretty quickly. He was still not himself when I was getting him ready for daycare. He did not have a fever so I took him on. I called the doctor and she said to bring him in. I was happy to hear that she did not hear any wheezing, just stuff in his upper airway from his cold. I was not so happy to hear that he has an ear infection. I knew it would come. He made it one month longer than Hannah did. She gave us some medicine to take for 10 days. Please pray that it helps. I hope this is not the beginning of a long winter ahead.

she is learning good things

On the way home from school I asked Hannah what she made at school (the picture above). She said, "We made a house out of logs like the Pilgrims. When they came here they did not have a place to live, so they had to comb down some trees and build a house. You see all these trees (the ones we were driving past) they were just like them. You can make a house out of trees."

She also told me that they came to here on a BIG ship. She added, it was called the Mayflower.

She is too smart and must be a good listener at school.

Hunter is 7 months old

Where has the time gone. I did not even take a picture of him today. He is still the best baby ever. He is so happy!!! He is sitting better, rolling all over the place, and starting to raise his hands up when he wants you to hold him. He eats three meals a day and still takes four bottles. He LOVES his sister. She can make him laugh so hard. He is the sunshine in my day, everyday.

Happy Halloween

I just wanted to take a minute to post these pictures of my beautiful Tinker Bell and sweet little giraffe. I will update about the party and the rest of October soon.
