Welcome to First Grade

Hunter is so excited to move upstairs to the Children's area. He is a big first grader now. I'm thankful we are part of a church who pours into our children and disciples them as they grow. He loved his new "big kid" bible. Thanks ClearView!

Last Day of School

Kindergarten and 3rd grade complete! They both had great years. I am so thankful they love school and have great teachers who make learning fun for them. We are all ready for summer!

K end of year program

Mr. Currie always does such a great job with our music programs at AZ Kelley. All of the kindergarten kids did a great job!

Hunter has loved kindergarten. Thank you Mrs. Smith for teaching and loving him well even on the hard days. He can be a handful but that sweet face will melt your heart in a second!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hannah made me breakfast in bed.

Glad I get to be their mom. It's not an easy job but I wouldn't trade it for the world! Happy Mother's Day to my mom, Nene and Meme! We are all thankful for each of you! I hope all my mom friends had a great day and were treated like queens today!

game ball

Hunter got the game ball tonight for good listening, effort and two home runs! That is a huge accomplishment. I can't stand how cute he is in his uniform.

Kid Rock Marathon

 Ready to finish their marathon!
Hunter was so excited that he finally got to run this year. He could not wait to complete his last half mile. We got a minute into running and he was asking when we would be finished. When I reminded him there were snacks at the finish line he was able to keep running.
So proud of this girl! She loves to run. I can hardly keep up with her. This is one of her favorite events of the school year!

last day of spring break

Derrick was off today and got to spend the day with the kids.
After taking them to the grocery store
He took them to see Home!
Monday's are busy days for us. Both kids have practice at the same time at different parks. We are still trying to figure out if it is best to eat really early, then go to practice or eat a snack and a late dinner after practice. The kids ate a really late lunch today and weren't hungry. This was my dinner and if may continue to be until softball and baseball are over.

Kicking off Hunter's Birthday Week

Derrick and Hunter went to get donuts for breakfast this morning. Hunter was so excited to get out the birthday cake and get to sit in the chair at the end of the table. It's the little things that make birthday week special and fun.

Lazy Saturday

Both kids were supposed to have practice today, but it was too cold and they were both canceled. We found plenty to do at home. Hunter fixed his eggs for the egg hunt at school next week. Derrick worked on some little projects around the house. I cleaned. Hannah played in her room setting up her Monster High house.

Hunter was so happy that Carson and Connor came over to play for a little while this afternoon. I was so happy that Hannah asked to hold Cooper today. I think she feel safer holding him now that he is getting bigger. He is so cute! I hope you all had a great Saturday.

libray, park and helping others

We thought it would be fun to check out the new library that is close to our house. Hunter was excited to check out a play-a-way like the big kids get to do at school. When we got to the door we found out the library is closed on Fridays. Hunter was a little sad until he saw this. How cool is this, a vending machine full of books and movies! Of course he checked out a movie.
It was a little cool, but we played for a little while. Hunter always has extra energy he needs to get out.
He fell off the balance beam and hurt his leg. He asked Hannah to carry him and she did. He looks hurt, doesn't he?
Getting the bags ready and writing notes to put in them.
Shopping for the items she wanted to put in the bags, with her money she had earned.
 Putting the bags together!
Ready to hand out!
She had been asking for a long time to make bags to give to the homeless people we see. I had been putting it off, but she has really been on me this week about it so we did it today. She decided how many bags she wanted to make and what she wanted to go in them. She got her money and list and we headed to the store. Hunter said he wanted to buy some things too. They decided to split the cost. They were so excited. We have the bags ready and in the car. I can't wait to watch them give their first bag away. I hope to get a picture of it.

Hibernation day and a movie

We decided the cats had the right idea for today. It was cloudy and rainy so we had a lazy morning.
The kids watched TV and I read. It was wonderful! We did not have anywhere to be until 2:30, so there was no rushing around. I really wish everyday could be like this. I keep telling myself, summer is coming.
Hannah had to go to the dermatologist to see about the warts on her hands. She quickly told her that Hunter gave them to her. She was very brave as the doctor froze each one. It broke my heart to see her hurting, but she was strong and never cried.
Her practice was rained out tonight so we went to the see Cinderella. When we pulled up, Hunter said, "Mom take a picture and send it to Mrs. Smith. She will love how beautiful it is and I want her to know I am thinking about her." So I did. The movie was really good. It was a great way to end a rainy, cloudy day.

stay at home day

Hannah painted this picture from me to hang in my classroom. We love GoNoodle.
I have been in cleaning and clean out mode today. This was in the top of the closet I cleaned out. I think it was put there because they were fighting over it. You would have thought it was Christmas. They played with it all day!
We ended our day with a little marshmallow building.
The best part, they got to eat the marshmallows when they were finished.

fun day

We met friends at the zoo today.
I think Hunter looks like Derrick in this outfit. He is getting so big, but is still so little in size.
I love Cooper. I was walking beside Sarah and had my phone in my hand, pointed toward him. I looked and him and he was smiling so big. Sarah says he is a ham and thinks anytime he sees a phone that you are taking his picture. I love it!
Crazy faces on some silly kids!

Hunter made this sculpture and wanted to take a picture from his art teacher.
He said, "I took this cool picture too!"
I love having the windows open and listening to the kids play while I cook dinner.
Hunter has been working on tying shoes and tonight he got it! He is so proud of himself.

spring break

Our peach tree is starting to bloom! I love spring!
Hunter loves to play in the dirt and mulch piles that the Tidwell's have in their yard. He came running back to me and said, "Mom, I need your phone to take a really cool picture." Here is his cool picture. He has just finished learning about worms in science and was so excited to find one. He had already carried one over to show me. He is 110% boy and I love it!
We were so excited that Danielle and Riley came to visit! Riley is so sweet and it was nice to catch up with Danielle.
Hunter said she is so sweet and cute! I agree!
I could hold her for days! I love babies!
The kids wanted to practice hitting so I was pitching to them. They are both pretty good at hitting. Hannah hits WAY harder than I thought. You would think this little plastic balls would not hurt that bad, right? WRONG! They hurt REALLY bad if they hit you with some force behind them. Lesson learned, don't pitch to Hannah.

more time outside

Derrick hung more birdhouses this week. Last summer while Jacqulin was keeping the kids they painted birdhouses. This one is hers.
 Hannah's
 Hunter's
 This is one Derrick made
The kids love riding their scooters.
I did not realize until I looked at this picture that they ride with different legs. Hannah pushed with her right leg and Hunter uses his left. They are both right handed, so I would think they would both use their right leg.
This is how the back of the car will look from now until the end of May at least. They are both loving playing ball. Games start soon!
