a teacher in the making

Hannah was teaching Hunter how to do PALS. She does this at school and knows how to do it well. Hopefully he will learn some letter sound, how to sound out words, and sight words. Hannah said he was too little to read the story.

Hunter's thought about Skippy

The video is too big to put on the blog. Derrick is going to have to help me. He is the computer expert. It is does not work I will try to write out what all he said. It was really funny. He is enjoying getting to come to Preschool worship.

oh my I am not ready for this

No animals were harmed while the kids practiced shooting the BB gun. Gypsy quickly ran away and the deer just looked at us like we were all disturbing him.

Happy Birthday Kylie!

The kids had a great time playing at Kylie's birthday party. It is always fun to celebrate a friends birthday. Happy Birthday Kylie!!!!

treehouses at Cheekwood

Of course Hunter had to climb as high as he could in the first tree house we saw.
Then Hannah had to do it because Hunter did.
The conch shell was really neat.
Hannah the zebra. I was not fast enough to get a picture of anyone else with the mask on.

Hannah love Connor. I think she thinks he is a baby because he is the youngest in the group. He seems to love her too.
Hunter wanted to color and was concentrating very hard on his work.
 She looks so grown up.
Our attempt to take a group picture. This was the best one I was able to get.

How cool is this Rainbow Fish tree house?

The ball of yarn was pretty cool, too.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the picnic lunch, but it was a little crazy.
Thanks Julia and Sarah for inviting us. We had a great time.

Bussell's Backyard Bash

I made these for the Back to School Bash. They usually have a Fourth of July cookout but Cooper was sick so they rescheduled. I thought apples were a good back to school cookie choice. We had such a good time that I did not even take any pictures. Thank for hosting such a fun evening!

outside things

All of the turkeys were out this morning. Hunter says this is the whole family.

The kids were really concerned about the sunflower bending over. Hunter said it needed some water. I tried to explain to them that it was just heavy. They were not satisfied with that answer at all.

MeMe planted 35 sunflower seeds and these were the only ones that came up.

Hunter wanted to help hold this one up so I could take a good picture of it.

where is Hunter?

Some nights it is hard to find him with all the animals, blankets, and pillows in his bed. Tonight even Gypsy decided to join the collection.

visitors

I love that the deer just come lay in the yard while it is still daylight. They are not bothered by the turkeys or rabbits. (The rabbits were not still enough for a picture.)

first grade Bible presentation

Today was a very special day. Hannah will move to the Children's department next week. We had lunch at church and then all the rising first graders were presented with bibles. They are really neat bibles and I am excited for her to really learn how to use her bible. She was so excited and we were so proud.

How did these three get so big? It is so hard to believe they are ready for first grade. It has gone by way to fast!!!!!

a stay at home day

Hannah was so excited to look out the bathroom window this morning and see the sunflower open.
Hunter had to cut the grass with Derrick and this is what I saw when I looked out the window.

my wonderful family

The beginning of school is always a very busy, stressful time. Derrick picked the kids up from school today, but came back to help me. They all pitched in and helped me sort school supplies. Hunter loved making a tissue box tower.
Uh oh the tower tumbled.
I can fix it, he said.

Thanks for coming to help me tonight at school!!!

first day of first grade

Today was Hannah's first day of first grade. She was so excited this morning. I am glad that she likes school so much. I am excited to that she will be right next door to me. I can't wait to watch her learn this year. She was excited that Dad was able to bring her to school. He took pictures with is "real" camera and I have not downloaded them yet.

Dad picked her up and they had lunch with the Bussell's at Blue Coast. Thanks Mrs. Allison for sending me this picture.
