he is creative

Derrick put foam core in the windows for the kids so they could see the screens better on the ride to SC. He called it the "limo tint." That was still not dark enough for Hunter to see the iPad. He likes to play on the iPad when Hannah is watching a movie he does not like. He is to silly.

we had a busy day

We started the day by going to the doctor. Hannah has been coughing for over a week and it is not getting better. Since we are going out of town I wanted to get her checked out. Sure enough she needed a treatment. The doctor said she was not wheezing but her chest was tight and she couldn't take a deep breath. We now have an inhaler and a steroid, just in case the cough is not better with just the inhaler.
We went to the eye doctor and ordered my prescription sunglasses which I can't wait to get. I love them. It came a huge downpour while we were there. As we were driving to Target we got behind this truck. I stayed back because it did not look safe to me.
We tried to find Dad some swim trunks. I was texting him to see if he liked either of these and Hunter just had to get in the picture. He is such a mess. Dad did not like either of these. We tried!
After a quick stop by school we came home to eat lunch and then went to open house at Lighthouse. We took his teachers their end of year gifts. As you can tell we did not have it together the last week of school. They loved them and said they had hoped that was what they were getting. Hunter is going to miss them. His new teachers were very nice. He is excited that his class has a hamster. He was quick to tell his teachers that he was not coming to school Monday but that he would come at the end of July.
We came home to finish packing for SC. I told Hannah and Hunter some things to get out to help me. Hunter decided that he would just lay off of his clothes out separately. I asked him what he was going to wear to Uncle Kyle's wedding and he said, "Oh yeah, I can't reach those clothes."

sweetness, memories & Summer Launch at church

Fluffy made it through the night. Hunter told us that he was going to take him on vacation with us. I told him I was not sure if that was a good idea. He seems to think it is.

We were getting ready to go to leave and I saw him being so sweet to Gypsy. She was being sweet back. Glad I was able to capture this rare moment.

Monday I was cleaning out some things in the basement and came across a box of letters and things from college. It was really fun to read some of them. Robin mailed me the most letters and Chrissy left  me the most notes. I found the recipe cards from going to Jenny's house once a week and getting to cook. Maybe I will make some of these this summer.
I also found all of these calling cards. Derrick and I must have talked on the phone a lot.
Tonight our church had a summer launch to kick off summer. We will not meet on Wednesday's until school starts back in August. We will have BYKC all summer long. Our BYKC is June 18-20. The kids had a great time bouncing, sliding, riding ponies, and eating snow cups. We are blessed to be a part of such a wonderful church.

end of the year

Today was my last day to work. Having the summers off is one of the best parts of my job. I love getting to spend the whole summer with my kids. Hunter's school is closed all week for teacher in-service, so he is out too. He will not go back until July when I do. Derrick had to work, so we called Jacqulin to come babysit. The kids were so excited. It is hard to believe that I use to babysit her and now she is old enough to babysit my kids. The kids had a great time and when I got home they had cleaned their rooms and the living room. Thanks so much Jacqulin for keeping them.

We had an end of the year cookout/potluck at Chip's house. It was good to just sit and visit with everyone. I also got to hold sweet Addie and she went to sleep, so I just kept holding her. Terah and Susan fixed my kids food so I could just keep holding that sweet baby. The bigger kids had a great time playing. I only took this picture of Hunter with his new pet, Fluffy the ladybug.

Our last gift for Mrs. Russell. She was nice enough to come by on her way home and pick it up. Hannah had a great year in first grade and we were yet again blessed with a wonderful teacher.

Memorial Day

I love watching the kids play in the sprinkler.
I think he was riding a horse and Hannah was leading it.
Derrick and I filled in the rest of the rocks. I did not go to the gym so this was my workout for the day. Rocks are really heavy.

Derrick got the jeep out and we took it to Sonic for milkshakes. It was a great way to end our "stay at home" day.
Hunter was so proud of his dinosaur. It looks pretty good to me.

rest time

Hunter was a little out of sorts when we got home from church. We told him he needed to rest for a little while, which he was not a fan of. I asked him if he wanted me to rest with him. He said yes. We rested for a little while (maybe 15 minutes) and then talked and read a few stories. He said he was all better and ready to get up. He is so sweet and a mess at the same time.

last soccer game and family game night

I can say they have improved over the last several weeks. Hunter said, when the game was over, "I still did not kick it in the gold."
Hunter and Coach Matt. He brought him a note/picture that Hannah helped him make.
 They are too cute!
He was pretty excited to get his first trophy.

Mouse Trap was the game of the night. The kids loved it. I think we will be playing it often this summer.

last day of school

I am thankful for a sweet mom who went to the book store and picked up books for me to give to my class and for Pinterest. My kids were so excited when they came in and saw their gifts on their desk.
William's mom came in to bring me a gift and take a picture of us. She has come every Monday to help me and I have loved it!I am going to miss her next year.
I cried when I opened this gift. Mason is precious and I love his whole family. I am truly blessed to be able to teach each day and I need to make sure I always do it to the best of my ability. I am going to miss all of my kids. I will be packing up my room to move to Pre-K next year. I am very excited to move back to the younger students.

oh, my what a day

This was just one thing in my day that did not go as planned. We got to soccer practice and Hunter had no soccer socks in his bag. He also had all orange clothes. I made him leave on his green shirt because I could not handle all the orange. He kept telling Coach Matt that he forgot his socks, but it did not stop him from practicing.

he is growing

I might worry a little that Hunter is not growing. It was good to see this. He is growing at his own pace. I love his little hand prints.

soccer and softball

Ms. Rachel got a good picture of Hunter in action.
Thanks Aunt Debbie, Jacqulin and Ms. Rachel for coming to watch Hunter play today.
Derrick and I had to divide up today to get the kids where they needed to be. Hannah went with Derrick to Ty and Todd's party and Hunter and I went to soccer. He was sad to miss the party. We met up at the softball game to watch our ClearView friends play. They are really good. Derrick and I enjoyed watching the game and the kids enjoyed playing with friends.
Hunter decided that he would try our Trey's wagon.

soccer and baseball

Hunter is becoming much more interested in what is going on at the other games than his own.
He is just so cute in his soccer uniform.
We made it to Cooper's baseball game today. He is a good little ball player.

Gypsy's new toy

Derrick made this scratching post/climbing toy for Gypsy. She seems to be a fan of it.
