I love Saturday

I started the day by running a 10k with great friends. I cleaned out the pantry after lunch. Hannah and  I decorated bags for Easter for the Ronald McDonald House. Dad worked in the yard with lots of help from Hannah and Hunter. I think we had a great start to our spring break week.

paci

I am so, so, so sad that Hunter is no longer going to have a paci. We told him when he turns 3 that he has to give them away because he will be a big boy. I need him to have a paci more than he needs/wants it. I love to see him sleeping with it or just want it when he is tired/hurt/sad. It is the last thing that makes him a baby. I just want him to stay little as long as possible. When we were putting him to bed he reminded us that when he is 3 on his birthday that he was going to give his pacies to Baby Trey. I asked him if I could take some pictures of him with them and he was happy to let me. I am sad my baby boy is growing up so quickly.

too cute

Hunter's afternoon teacher made all the kids one of these. It is a chick that covers an egg. I thought it was too cute and was impressed that she made one for all the kids. That took a lot of time.

interstate

Our internet has been on the blink since last weekend. I had planning on updating the blog all week and then we had no internet. The Comcast guy came today. Hunter followed him around and asked him a 1,000 questions. He kept asking him if he was fixing our interstate. When he went outside to check the line Hunter came running through the house yelling, "The interstate man is up on a high ladder." It is fixed temporally so we will see if I can get the blog updated this week. If not I will do it over spring break. I think I can make it 5 more days.

a hat and a flower garden

Hunter came to tell me he was ready for church. I told him he sure was cute but that he could not wear his hat to church. He said, "I just wear it in the car." He is so cute in it I could not tell him no.
Hannah, Cooper and Hunter made this flower garden for me. I had thrown these flowers out because they were getting old. Hannah thought they would make a great garden. I think the pine cones add a nice touch to the beautiful garden. They were all so proud.

I love that it is the little things that make them so happy.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Hannah was excited to wake up her bear today and have a picnic with her. In December her class had hibernation day. She has been counting down to Spring when they would wake the bears up since January. I did not get a picture of her with her bear ears on. I am glad I was able to see her for a few minutes during the Teddy Bear Picnic.

smart Hannah, proud mom and dad

We are so proud of Hannah. She had a great report card. She is doing well in all areas. She knows all 220 sight words and is reading on a level 16 (she needed to read a level 4 by the end of kindergarten). I hope she will always love school this much.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Thanks Nana and Papa for the cool, fun glasses.
We went to Toys R Us after pictures and let the kids spend their gift  cards they got for Christmas. Hunter had to play on all the four wheelers.
Dad helping put the new toys together.
Hunter got a shooter and he loves it.
Hannah made this leprechaun today and wrote this story. She loves to do draw and write.
Hannah playing with her puppy pool she got today. She also brought out the Barbie pool which he already had.

cookies

I make the kids' teachers shamrock cookies. I wish I would have thought ahead enough and made them for their whole classes.
One of the girls on my team asked me to make cookies for her sister's birthday. I thought they turned out pretty cute. Thanks for asking me to make them.

guess who is coming to visit tonight

the TOOTH FAIRY!!!!!!! Hannah pulled her own tooth and was so excited. I am excited for her but also sad that she is old enough to loose her teeth and that I was not here when she lost it. I am glad that Dad decided to take a picture.

thankful for a day at home

It was a little cool this morning for short sleeves, and then they did not want to take his jacket off. Silly boy!
We are having the best day at home today. The kids have played outside, Derrick did a little work in the yard and I just sat on the porch and played school with Hannah. I did make myself come inside to do laundry. It is such a beautiful day. We are all ready for spring and summer after today. Hannah has her playhouse all set up like a schoolhouse now. Thanks to Aunt Kim she has all the supplies she needs. She loves it and so do it. Here is a little video tour of her classroom and a picture of her favorite student. I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday as much as we are.

Hunter and Cat

Hunter is loving that Cat, that is what he calls her, is still here and likes him. He really wants her to sleep in the bed with him, but she is not a fan of that. She did sleep on his bed the other afternoon, while he wasn't in it. I told him he is too loud for her. He loves to feed her. He fills up her food bowl every morning. This morning he was sitting on his knees beside her and she raised her head up from eating. They looked so cute. I was about to take their picture when Hunter pushed her head back in the bowl because she was not finished eating, according to him. She just mowed and walked away. Hunter was very upset that Cat did not finish all of her food. Tonight he brought her food bowl in the kitchen. I asked him why he was moving it and he said, "Cat can't eat in the dark." He also thought she needed more food, so he pour the whole bag in the bowl which was way too much. At least he likes to help and Cat is nice to him.

Hannah's 6 year old check up

Hannah had a great check up today. To her the best news was that she did not have to have a shot and will not have to have one until she is 11. Dr. B said she was very healthy and was glad that she had not seen us all winter. She has made it to the 75 percentile for height and weight. I did not think we would ever get that high on the chart. I am glad she had such a great check up.

just like his Dad

Hunter thought this was too fun. I stopped recording as he said, "That did not hurt!" He is all boy. I love that he has decided that he needs to wear a hat all the time now. He even wore it to school today.

Hannah's special day

As soon as she woke up Hunter was ready to sing Happy Birthday to her. He is such a sweet brother.

Dad fixed her strudels complete with a number 6 candle.

Her name was announced at school during the announcements.

Dad came to school to eat lunch with her.

She took cupcakes, that Nana made, and juice to school to share with her friends.

She requested Blue Coast and Menchies for dinner and dessert. Of course we went.

Lots of hugs and kisses were given today to show her how much she is loved by us.

Happy Birthday our sweet girl. We hope you enjoyed your special day!

Happy 6th Birthday!

It is hard to believe that our sweet baby girl is growing up so fast. It really does seem like she was just born. She is such a good girl. We do have our moments. She brings us so much joy. We are thankful that God choose us to be her parents. She had a good day at school and was excited to take cupcakes and juice to share with her friends. She requested dinner at Blue Coast and ice cream from Menchies. She is one loved little girl. Thank you for all the calls, text, and messages wishing her Happy Birthday!

Hannah's 6th Birthday Party

Thanks Nana for making the cake.
 Let the painting begin.

Kylie, Hannah and Kahlen enjoying some cake, ice cream and juice.
 Sweet brothers.
Hannah told me all week that I needed to invite Mrs. Smith to her party. I told her that I did not know if she would be able to come, but that it was fine to invite her if she wanted her to come. Hannah was so excited that she came. I am glad that she is not just Hannah's teacher, but my friend as well.
I decided to do cookies instead of goody bags.
 Opening presents!

She jumped right on and was ready to ride. I think I know what she and Dad will be doing tomorrow afternoon.

It was nice to wake up to sunshine this morning. Hannah stayed with MeMe, Pop Pop and Marla at their hotel last night and Hunter stayed with Nana and Papa. Of course Derrick and I still work up early this morning. We were able to finish getting things ready for the party before the kids came back home. Hannah was very excited to have Marla here for the weekend with her. She was even more excited when all her friends arrived for her party. We painted after they played outside for a little while. They played outside again while we cleaned the table off and put out the cake, ice cream, toppings, cupcakes and popcorn. After a little more time playing it was time to open presents. Hannah is one loved little girl. After they all played a little more and everyone left Hannah said she liked all her presents but she was sad she did not get the bike she asked for. Derrick decided that we would wait and give it to her later. That was the prefect time. The look on her face was priceless. Thanks everyone for coming to celebrate Hannah's 6th Birthday with us.

Green Eggs and Ham

Hannah tasted the green eggs and ham and liked it. She said, "It was so yummy!" with a huge smile on her face. She had a great week celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. Now it is time to start celebrating her birthday. Her party is tomorrow. I can't believe my sweet baby girl will be 6 on Monday. It has gone by too fast!

read me day

Today was read me day and Hannah wanted to wear her Hello Kitty shirt. I did not take her to school or bring her home so I totally forget to take her picture until tonight. She has told me all week and on Friday when they have green eggs and ham she is not going to eat it. I hope that Mrs. Smith will be able to talk her into trying it. I will let you know tomorrow.
