please pray for Uncle Kyle

I got a call from my dad at 9:11pm tonight. It is a call that no one wants to receive. He had received a call from Vanderbilt that Kyle had been in a motorcycle wreck. I called Julia and she was at my house very quickly. Hannah was still awake so we told her that Uncle Kyle as sick and we had to go check on him. She seemed okay with that. Derrick and headed to Vandy. When we arrived Susan was waiting in the ER. I asked her why she was here and she said for you. I think I was rude/short when I asked her, but I was a little stressed. Sorry Susan. I went back to see Kyle and he as awake. I got to talk to him for a few minutes. I was asking if he as okay and Derrick was asking what happened. When I came out there were more people there to support us. It meant so much that that many people came out at that time of night. Thank you Susan, Jenn, Allison, Jeremy, Joel, Lynn, and Joel's mom for coming. I was very scared, but had a peace from the time that I talked to Daddy telling me to go to Vandy. He has very, very, very hurt legs. Please pray that he will have a complete healing. Hannah is ready to go to swimming lessons and needs Uncle Kyle to chase her around the house. Hunter needs to get to know Uncle Kyle and do fun boy things with him. I know Uncle Kyle will have him at the gym soon.

4 month check up

I took Hunter for his 4 month check up today. He weighted 15.4lbs, 50 percentile and was 25 1/2 inches long, 75 percentile. The only thing he could not do that was on the check list was roll over. I told the doctor we would work on it. He got three shots and had to take one oral immunization. He is growing and growing. We can start giving him rice cereal now. The doctor said we could put some fruit in it to make it taste better.

busy week

I was glad to have my parents last weekend to help watch the kids while Derrick and worked on Friday and then did the yard sale on Saturday. They had to leave on Sunday and Mike and Nene came to visit. We had a very busy week. I worked at school on Monday and took Hunter to the doctor to see about his cough, had an in-service on Tuesday and we went to dinner with Bussell's, Wednesday I worked at school again, Thursday I had kindergarten pre-screening and bible study, and today I had to take Hunter to the doctor for his 4 month check up.

Derrick and Mike worked on many projects around the house all week and Nene took care of the kids and helped around the house.

We had a nice lunch with them before they went back to SC. Thank you both for coming and helping us all week. We got a lot done, sorry we did not get to visit with you more.

he is a stinker

When we came home from lunch with Mike and Nene I put Hunter on his stomach to see if he would try to roll over. What do you think he did? You guessed it, he rolled over, looked and me and gave me the biggest smile. He is a stinker. I got the camera and put him back on his stomach. What do you think he did? You guessed it again, looked at me and then cried. I put the camera down and he rolled over. I will get a picture/video of him rolling over soon I hope.

The guy came today to grind the floors in the basement. Maybe Uncle Kyle will have a room to sleep in before he graduates.

father daughter project

Derrick and Hannah have been working on bird houses together. These are two that he got out of the yard that they painted and are decorating now. He has also been building some as well. They have not painted them all yet. They have the best time working on the bird houses together.

yard sale

I was surprised at all of the stuff we had to sale. The sale started out a little slow. We started at 6am. I thought there would be people waiting. I was getting a little nervous that no one was going to come. What little faith I have. Lots of people started coming about 6:45am. There was never a long amount of time with no shoppers. It was fun to hang out with people from the Sunday School class. We were very happy to have a great sale. We were also glad that Papa and Nana were here to watch the kids while we did the sale. Thanks Papa and Nana.

consignment sale

I was amazed at the people who came in early to the consignment sale. I worked from 2-6 and then was able to shop at 7pm. The people who came in at 3 and 5 were very excited to be there. I am glad I worked so I could shop early without the crowd, but I would not work more than one shift. It was nice to shop without the crowd and I was able to visit with Elaine some. I got both of the kids about 10 outfits each and a few puzzles, games, and DVD's. I am glad they both have clothes for school and daycare now.

new things in Hunter's room

I put the mobile in Hunter's crib and his bed skirt on this bed. He likes the mobile and I like the bed skirt.

one thing they can share

I saved these pajamas from Hannah. They are six month so I thought they would not fit him for a while. I was wrong. Hannah was 7 months old when she wore them and Hunter is not quit 4 months. They both have silly hair and look a little alike.

a new game

Hunter is learning to play the Wii already. He was helping Dad drive the car while playing Mariokart. Hannah likes the game because there is a princess who drives a pink car. I am glad we have a game we can play as a family.

Hannah's new skills

Hannah surprised us at school yesterday by writing her whole name, first and last. I knew she could spell her first name and that she could write some letters. She has asked me to write her last name a few times, but she has never written it for me. She wrote it tonight with one lower case a and one capital a. I know it is not perfect, but I think it is legible and great for a 3 year old. She is getting very good at cutting on a line with scissors. I had run some papers before school was out of cutting activities. I gave her some tonight for the first time and she did great. I am so proud of her. I know that I will have kindergartners coming to me in a few weeks who will not be able to write their name or cut with scissors. She is also working on coloring in the lines. I love how hard she concentrates while working. Too cute with her tongue sticking out. Hunter was watching so he will know what to do when he is a little bigger. I am sure she will teach him all he needs to know. Good job my big girl!!!

Hannah's been taking pictures again...

all of Hunter this time. I think she would have taken 500 if I had not asked her to put the camera up so we could get Hunter out of the seat.

dentist

Hannah went to the dentist this morning. When we got there "the lady" as she calls her, was holding the door open because she had just called a patient. Hannah went walking back and said, "Here I am." She nicely told Hannah that it was not her turn yet and she would call her in a minute. I am glad she is so excited to go to the dentist. Dr. McNutt said she did not have any sugar bugs on her teeth. She has 10 teeth on the top and 10 teeth on the bottom. He is still watching her under bite but is not overly concerned about it. I think she gets her love from the dentist from me. I go tomorrow and have to admit I like going and having my teeth cleaned.

What is an anniversary?

Derrick and I were going out to get dessert tonight and Hannah of course asked WHY. I told her it was our anniversary. She then asked what is an anniversary? I told her it is the day we celebrate when mom and dad got married. All she was worried about then was if I wore a pretty princess dress. I should show her our wedding video. Uncle Kyle kept Hannah while Derrick and I went to run some errands and get dessert. I really wanted the Girl Scout Cookie blast from Dairy Queen, but we went to Sonic since it was closer. I enjoyed a molten chocolate bundt cake. This was the first sweet I have had since July 1. I am giving up sweets until I loose all my baby weight, but since it was a special occasion I decided to eat some dessert. It was really good!!!!

I was glad to spend the whole day with Derrick on our seven year anniversary. I love him more today than I did when I married him. He is not only my best friend, but a wonderful husband and the greatest dad is the world. I am looking forward to many, many, many more years together. We will go out to celebrate our anniversary this weekend when my parents are here to keep the kids. I think that will be our first date since Hunter has been born. We need to work on that.

video of Hunter

Hunter was talking and talking so I got the camera to make a video. Of course he did not have as much to say when I turned to camera on. Sorry you have to hear me, I hate hearing my self talk. You can hear Hannah sharing her thoughts. I have tried twice to upload the video and it is not working for me. I will try again later.

dresses

Hannah loves to wear dresses. She likes to twirl in them and says that every dress is a princess dress. These are special princess, twirling dress made for her by Grandma Nene. Good job Grandma Nene. Hannah said, "Nene is a good dress maker." Thanks Nene for making these dresses for Hannah.

Joel's Birthday

Hunter was good and took a little nap.
Derrick and Joel talking.
Hannah showing me how she can swim. She has had a good teacher this summer. Thanks Uncle Kyle.
Hannah went down the slide several times put I did not get a picture.

We went to Joel's mom's house to celebrate his birthday tonight. Hannah loved getting to swim and play with Joel's little cousins. She was a little sad that we did not sing Happy Birthday to him and that he only had cupcakes and no cake. (There was a cake, she just did not see it.) Thanks Joel for inviting us to your party.

summer reading celebration

We have been going to story time at the library every Wednesday this summer. We signed up for the summer reading program, which was to read 10 hours by July 11. Since we read all the time it was not hard to do. It was a little hard for me to remember to put out time in the computer so count our hours. There was a celebration at the library with Conductor Jack this afternoon. Hannah was not that into it, but did dance a little with Derrick. She got a bag that she can decorate, a certificate, pass to the zoo, and a pass that can be used at one of several places. I am a little sad that we only have three more weeks to go to story time before I go back to work.

buddies

I want lots of pictures of Hannah loving on Hunter. When she starts complaining about him being in her stuff or bothering her I can show her how much she use to love him.

bubbles

Hunter has learned to blow bubbles and I finally got a picture of it.

silly hair

Hannah loves for Derrick to give her a bath. They play and have the best time. I love listening to them while I am getting Hunter ready for bed. He is the best dad! She called me in the bathroom tonight to see how dad fixed her hair. Dad is a good at making silly hair.

big boy

Look how big he is! He is growing way to fast. He is this happy all the time. I love that every time he looks at us he smiles. He really likes sitting in his seat and being a part of our conversations. Hannah said she did not need to sit in her seat anymore because she is a big girl and Hunter could use it now. He is enjoying it!

lazy evening

We kept Hannah up since it was late when we got home from Eli's party. We were playing on the porch and she went and sat in her chair. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "I am getting a sun tan." She is too much. While we were out there the turkey's came in the yard. The babies are getting so big. There are five babies and at times three mom's. Derrick got a really good picture of them out Hunter's window early one morning before he went to work. I will have to get it from his camera.

Chuck E. Cheese

We went to Eli's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese today after church. Hannah was so excited. She kept saying, "I have never been to Chuck E. Cheese before, it will be so fun." She had a great time. She was not too sure about Chuck E. Cheese, but she did not cry when he came close to her. She just looked at him and said nothing. She had fun playing the games and playing in the tubes/tunnels. Thanks Eli for inviting us to your party.

bath time

Hunter still loves his bath. He is such a good baby all the time. We feel very blessed. I was so good about getting pictures of Hannah after her bath when she was smiling and happy wrapped in her towel. Derrick still had the camera in his pocket from the zoo so we finally got some pictures of Hunter. Hannah decided we needed some pictures of her too. She loves her green fingernails. The lady at the hair place painted them for her.

members night at the zoo

We went to the zoo tonight to check out what member's night was like. It rained earlier today, but since the rain at stopped we decided to go. The plan was to pack a picnic, but since we did not want to eat in the rain, we ate at home then went. There were free carousel rides and the blow up things were there again, like they had on the Friday of Red, White and Zoo. Hannah, Ty and Todd had fun riding the carousel several times. Ty and Hannah like the blow up toys. Hannah still did not like the small one that was hot the last time she was in it. Derrick said that she bumped into someone. Hunter enjoyed being out of his seat and laying in the stroller. He was so good. He just looked around and then went to sleep. Hannah still does not like for us to go to the zoo and not see all of the animals.
