NY here we come

 We were the last two to get on the bus, and the whole bus might have been waiting on us, but we made it and we are ready to go! Derrick really is happy to ride a bus for the next 18 hours.

I was happy I bought these. I can't go to sleep without brushing my teeth. On the bus this will have to do. Good night, hopefully I can get a little sleep while sitting up.

so quiet

Derrick and I have the best parents, which means our kids have the best grandparents. My parents left with the kids this morning headed back to SC. Derrick and I are going to New York for a mission trip. My parents will have the kids until Sunday then they will take them to Mike and Nene's for the rest of the time we are gone. Mike and Nene will bring them back to us. That is service! Since we don't leave until tomorrow and I am mostly packed I am enjoying a little time on the porch this morning. It is way to quiet in the house. Thanks Papa, Nana, Mike and Nene for taking care of the kids for us while we are gone. You all are the best!

Starting a new book sine it is quiet and I am about to ride on a bus for 18 hours.

a good book, beautiful butterfly and BKC night 3

 This was a challenging book to read, but really made me think. I highly recommend it.

 We love that the butterflies are enjoying the beautiful flowers MeMe planted as much as we are.

 I'm so glad all of these friends came this week. I hope they will come back next year!

 Snack time! I'm not sure why I did not take any pictures of Rec, but I am thankful Jacqulin, Reagan and Maddie came to do Rec with the kids.

I had the privilege of teaching these sweet girls this past year. They stole my heart on the first day of school. I am so glad they came this week. It was nice to see them during the summer.

We were excited to host this year. It was fun to be able to invite some of the kids I teach and get to share the Good News with them. We had a good group for night one.

 A friend had posted a picture of her daughter's hair like this and thought it was too cute not to do.

so proud

 We all went to the pool this morning and Hunter passed the swim test!!!!! He has tried a few times this summer but not passed. I think he just needed Dad to be there. Way to go Buddy! We are so proud of you.

We decided to go to Smyrna to watch the fireworks tonight. We had never eaten at Toot's so thought we would try it since it was close to where we were going to watch. Hunter thought it was hilarious that a restaurant was a bathroom word. The food was pretty good. We were a little late leaving to get to the fireworks so we just went to the Y to watch them. It was a little cool, but we sat close and stayed warm enough. The fireworks were very pretty, but my pictures did not turn out great.

testing day 2

Today's test included a MRI. Look at that beautiful brain. Derrick and I tease her that we have proof she has a brain when she acts like she does not know things, can't find things or has seemingly lost her mind. We will get a letter in a few weeks that tells how she did on all of the test. I enjoyed another lunch date with her today. I love my one on one time with her.
