Boot Hill and Horseback Riding

So happy to be riding in Sissy's booster seat.

Ready for the trolly ride through Dodge City.

This is what Hunter thought of the ride. It is a good thing he went to sleep because before the ride started the driver asked that there be no talking.

Hunter just made himself at home while touring the Boot Hill Museum.

After got back to the Hood's we went out to the farm for the kids to ride a horse.

Why do the kids love Kansas?

they get to drink sweet tea
they get to stay up really late
they do not have to ride in car seats
they get to ride in the back of trucks
they get to go hunting
they get to ride on/drive tractors
they get to eat whatever they want

We may never get them back to Nashville. We are all having a great time. Mike and Derrick took Hunter hunting for prairie dogs or as Hunter calls them puppy dogs. Derrick did not get any pictures. They said he was ready to leave about five minutes after they got there. They should have packed him some snacks and he would have lasted a lot longer. Hannah, Nene and I had a good time just hanging out together.

Street Dance

I will be the first to admit that I am not the best with directions. I am very thankful for Google maps. The big girls were going to pick up one more donation for the Street Dance and these are the directions Lisa gave up. We laughed so hard reading them. Megan knew where we were going so we really did not need directions, but they did give us a good laugh. Megan gave us plenty of warning before we had to jump off the highway.

The kids were excited to play a game before the live auction and dancing started.

They were not in the mood to have their picture made. I sure do love those silly faces!

Hannah won this pillow in the silent auction. She is so excited! Can you tell by that smile?

Happy 4th of July from Kansas

The kids started their day jumping on the trampoline.

Since that was not enough fun, they changed into their bathing suits and added a little water to it.

They thought that was the best thing ever!

For a little more fun they got to ride in the back of the pickup truck down the street to the cookout.

We went to Lisa's sister's house for dinner and fireworks. I was a little nervous about being so close to the fireworks. Hunter did not get to go anywhere near them and Hannah only got to go with Megan.

I was not very good at getting pictures, but they were really pretty.

I hope you all were able to spend time with your family and friends today to celebrate our great country.

up, up and away to Kansas

He was up early and ready to go to the airpork, as he calls it.

Yes we checked 4 bags and one might have had nothings but shoes in it.

Hunter was so excited to be on the plane. He kept asking when we were going to blast off!

I love that she still plays with her princesses.

Derrick found the picture of him flying to Kansas for the first time and wanted to recreate it with Hunter and Hannah on their first flight to Kansas.

They were excited to see the pilot and have their picture made with him. Hannah decided to give Hunter bunny ears with her thumbs up.

We had a layover in Chicago and the kids got to watch our luggage change planes. I was glad to see ours going on the next plane.

Not only were we getting to "blast off" again, but he was getting to eat McDonald's and "burritos" on the plane.

And there are snacks on the plane, it does not get any better for this boy!

We read and worked in his plane book. It kept him busy for a little while.

Passing time while we wanted on Mike, Nene and Morgan to come get us.

I love to see the clouds when flying. I also love my new app.

After asking at least 1,000 times if we were at Morgan's house he finally went to sleep.

We made it to the Hood's and when they got home from work we went to help get a few things ready for the Street Dance and then to eat at the 4P, the only restaurant in their town. Hunter was the most excited to ride in the front with no seat belt.

I was waiting in the truck and thought I would take a picture of the Bucklin water tower.

Hunter was checking out the lights on the police truck. Their neighbor is a police officer and came over to let the kids push the buttons and check out this truck.

They even got sheriff badges.

Hunter's turn to ride in the road. We had a great first day. I am sure the kids will be up early for more fun tomorrow.

randomness

Our sweet baby deer was back this morning. We watched her, I think it is a girl, play for about 15 minutes. She would run around the whole house and then rest for a minute, then take off again. When she got tired she decided to eat some of my flowers. It is a good thing she is cute!

Hannah told me she wanted her nails and toes red, white, and blue for our trip to Kansas and the 4th of July. She asked me if I would mind if she asked Mrs. Julia to paint them because she is really good at painting nails. I told her I did not mind at all. Mrs. Julia was glad to come over and make Hannah's nails and toes look great. She loved them!

I am almost finished packing. I have to say it is much harder to pack for a trip when you are flying with kids. I hope these two books that I bought for the kids when I had my Usborne party will keep them busy for a little while.
