pool and BYKC Bug Zone Day 2

The pool was not too crowed today so I was able to get a couple of videos of Hannah. She wanted to get in the big pool to show off her backstroke but I did not want to get in and could not take my phone in to video her, so this will have to do for now. She is a little fish mermaid.

This is what happens when I let Hunter dress himself. It was all I could do not to make him change.
Hannah was very excited to sing the Bug Zone songs again tonight. I did not get a good action shot of her singing, but she remembered most of the motions.
 Tonight we learned about Gideon.
The craft tonight was decorating a picture frame and making a butterfly.
I was cleaning up crafts so I am not sure what they played during rec time, but they looked like they were having fun.
I did not get any pictures of snack. They had jello for wobbly knees, bugles for horns, and cupcakes with a candle for the torch. Too cute and a great review of the story!!!

BYKC Bug Zone Day 1

Hunter was very into the Bug Zone theme song. Mrs. Tara did a great job teaching the music.
Hannah did great learning the motion as well.
Mrs. Krista taught the Bible story about Joshua. The kids acted out the story and did great. They were good listeners.
Miss Gabby lead the kids in fun rec games. They were pretending to be bugs and moving like the bug she called out.
 Hannah was being a caterpillar.
The next game were caterpillar races. The kids were in groups of four and had to stay connected while they ran. The second round Hunter and Todd needed a little encouragement and Mr. Jeremy and Mr. Cody were willing to be on their team. The run was you had to stay connected and that they did.
The kids made one big caterpillar and Hunter had a hard time keeping up. He was funny holding Harrison's shirt by just pinching it.
Hunter was very excited that Blake came. They were not very interested in having their picture made. This was the best I could do.
 Snack time!!!!
Everyone enjoyed snack time and we were glad we were able to eat outside.
 Just because he is cute!
Hunter and Blake showing off their bug catchers we made. All the big kids were busy trying to catch bugs to put in theirs.
Mrs. Sharon looked up and said, "WOW! look at the rainbow." How neat for God to send us a beautiful rainbow to end our first night of BYKC.

splash pad

It was very overcast this morning so we decided to skip the pool and head to the splash pad. I think the kids had a good time. They were a little concerned that there was no break time. At almost 10 til 11 they all came asking for snacks. Their little bodies know. Hannah loved being able to dance all around in the water. Hunter liked the water guns. We were glad to have MeMe go with us. We had a nice visit with her the last several days. We ate lunch at Wendy's then came home for naps. Hunter finally went to sleep. We ended the day with a kickball game, which we lost by one run. Hopefully we will have a win next week.

nap time

Hunter is not a fan of naps this summer. He still takes a nap but not as easily as he once did. He loves to tell me, "I will not be so grumpy if you let me not take a nap." That is never true. Hannah has taken a few naps this summer as well. Swimming all morning and being outside combined with staying up way to late makes them both really tired. We are going to have to start going to bed early again soon, because we only have two weeks until it is back to school for Hunter and I. Today Hannah was not being nice at lunch and we told her she had to rest when we got home. I went in her room to check on her and she said she was not tired. I told her to close her eyes and just rest. She said, "If I close my eyes I will go to sleep." I told her that means she is really tired. She is sound asleep. Hunter got up about a thousand times before I found him like this, sound asleep.

4th of July cookies and ice cream

I made the cookies for the 2nd Annual Backyard Bash at the Bussell's. We were all sad that Cooper got sick and we did not get to have the Backyard Bash. We took Cooper (and his parents) some cookies because we could not let them go to waste. We are excited that the Backyard Bash is being rescheduled soon.

We made chocolate ice cream in Hannah's ice cream maker that the Sumner's gave it. It does not make a lot at one time so only she and Hunter had ice cream. They thought it was very yummy and very neat to make. Thanks for the cool gift Sumner family!

big boy bed and helper

Dad finished Hunter's big boy bed and Hunter is so excited. These are not the best pictures of the bed. It looks wonderful, not that I expect anything less from Derrick. He did a great job. He will take good pictures of it soon so you can see all the details. That Dad for building our wild man such a great bed.

Hunter was measuring and marking where Dad needed to cut. He loves to help Dad work!

swimming

The kids love when Dad gets to come to the pool with us. I love it too!!! They both had energy left to play after an hour of swim team. Hunter was excited that he got to swim at swim team. He did cry for a minute, but quickly got over it and had a great time.  Hannah did much better today than Monday. She still says she does not like it, but she seems to have a great time while she is there in the pool.
Hunter wanted breakfast like me. He eats so slow we had to pack the rest of his for the pool.
Hunter has NO fear of the water. I am glad that he is swimming but wish he still had just a little fear. The first video is him doing his new favorite "trick" which I think he would do for hours. The second video is him swimming. (I move my finger after a few seconds, sorry it was bright and I could not tell it was there.)

Hannah is too hard to keep up with and will not be still long enough to get a picture of her in the pool. She has too much swimming, jumping, diving, etc. to do. I need to get a video of her doing the backstroke. She is really good at it!

Happy 4th of July!!!!

I started the day by running a nice hot race with Sarah and Julia. Not my best time but not my worst.
I was starving when I got home so I made my favorite breakfast of all times. Fruit, yogurt and granola. I really think I could eat this for at least two meals a day.

We spent the morning at the pool and came home to eat lunch before Dad went to pick MeMe up from the airport. We spent the rest of the day at home just playing. Dad grilled burgers for dinner and they were very yummy. It was so hot we did not even eat on the porch. Hopefully it will cool off a little soon so we can start eating outside again.
Happy 4th of July. They are so cute I had to take two pictures of them. Thanks for their shirts Nene.

Dirt and worms or as Hannah calls it mud pie. She has been asking me to make some since school got out. I finally made it tonight. She thought it was a fun treat for dessert.
 I think she likes it!!!!
Hunter did not want me to take his picture.

Silly boy!!!!

terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day for mom

That sums up my day. It started with Hannah having a melt down at swim team practice, then a lady said I hit her while pulling out of the Y (there was no damage to her car or mine and I do not remember hitting her, but she was not happy and not nice). We came home to meet Derrick so we could follow him to sale his car and go sign papers to get a new, to us, car. Derrick said, "It will not take long, we should be finished in about an hour." We left here around 11 and I went straight from the dealership to the eye doctor for my 2 o'clock appointment. I do not like going to the eye doctor. I had not had lunch and was very hungry. I did not make it to class at 4:15 but did get there for the 4:45 class. We had kickball at 7 and we lost. When we got home the back door was standing wide open. Derrick said that I must have forgot to close it. I reminded him that I was not with them when they left. He said oh that is right. The house of fine, but it is always unnerving to come home to an open door. I hope tomorrow is a better day. Good night!

fire truck

The kids had a great time playing on the fire truck when we were leaving the kickball game. The firemen were very nice. They got to look in the truck, turn the lights and sirens on, blow the horn and try on the helmet and jacket. They also got stickers. Hunter kept calling them firehydrs, that is a combination of firefighter and fire hydrant.
