a year ago today...

it was not raining, and we were sitting at the auction to see if we could get this house. We did and it was a happy and exciting day!!! We have enjoyed the house so much in just one year. We have seen it through all four seasons and I can't pick one I like the best. The summer is great because we get to pick blackberries and play outside in the nice big yard with friends, fall is beautiful with all of the trees changing colors, winter was beautiful when it snowed, and spring was fun to see what flowers came up and all of the trees bloom. My favorite part of the house is still the porch. We can enjoy it during all four seasons. We also have great neighbors. I think Hannah enjoys seeing all of the wildlife, deer, turkey, geese, raccoon, and the random dog and cat that come through. Oh, she did get to see a mole, which mom and dad don't like. Derrick has done a lot of work in one year, with some help from Papa, Uncle Kyle, Mike, and PopPop. What he has done this year: replaced the steps going into the basement, put walls up on the side of the steps, dug up all of the bushes and trimmed trees, framed in a room and bathroom in the basement, put down hardwood floors in the "kids wing", scrapped the ceilings, painted Hannah's room and built her a nice window seat/bookcase/storage area, painted Hunter's room, put up crown and baseboard in the "kids wing". I am sure that he has done more little things that I have not mentioned. I know he has many more things planned to do in our house. We are very happy to be living in this wonderful house.

That is also one of our most special memories, and this was indeed a glorious day of smiles and sunshine. I am glad that we were able to be there and be a part of it. We have enjoyed it, too; and seeing all of you so happy there this year has been very nice. The many memories we have made there are cherished treasures. We are really proud of what you have already accomplished in such a short amount of time. It is always fun to visit and see the new progress that has been made. We love everything you have done so far, and know that it will only get better as you continue to live there and improve your surroundings. I like the term you used "kid's wing". That is so sweet. God is so good and has truly blessed in so many ways. May your lives always be this amazing and wonderful as we share together the riches He has generously given to all of us! Love you all bunches!!!!!

You forgot to mention all the hard work you did this year by having a sweet baby boy. Hunter is really the newest and most wonderful addition to this house, and you deserve a round of applause for your grand participation in this recent big picture of change. Thank you for giving our family, Hunter -- another precious little person for all of us to enjoy!

I loved seeing Hunter in his bed. So sweet! You'll have to post a pic of his entire room. I can't wait to see it. I can't believe it was a year ago that you got your house. Again, time flies!
